My question was entirely tongue in cheek, but Cheers.

Ha … Sounds like you’re getting ready to break out the popcorn

“Trick or treat”! That’s what it comes down to with this patch. :jack_o_lantern: Relax an enjoy this really FANTASTIC game. btw. This forum ist just great!

I am not sure why I am here. I cant download and play until the weekend but the comments and views of the sim are such great entertainment. Who needs netflix?

I am waiting for the reviews.

Should get a pool going:

  1. Who downloads the patch 1st
  2. Who breaks finds bugs in the patch 1st

!!!Due to extreme load, some forum services are restricted.!!

What patch?

It could be just me. 5 of the past 30 posts are me.

Hmm… No “any key”?

Ah, does this mean they will be releasing “The Flying Pumpkin?” or the “Witch on a Broomstick?”

Im sure they can still bring it down. I dont care about seeing the animated hangar so take that out or give the option to unless I want to go to the hangar. Among us which I know is a totally different game and its a 300mb game vs 100gb+ but it takes 3 seconds to load to the main menu. Once you skip the brand names, the press key to start screen etc, make the checking for updates better and optimize it more you should be able to cut the time almost if not in half.

Seems accurate. Maybe 1 or 2 more fixes they didn’t mention in updates, but yeah that’s the patch for the most part.

I wonder if yesterdays SIm connect update will have a negative issue on this patch release?

Already FSE has been down around 16 hours… thats why I am here and not flying…

I know what you mean.

Some of the comments are hilarious at times. I seem to spend as much time on the forum as I do simming. Saving on the electric bill too, so win-win :slightly_smiling_face:

In aviation there is neither reason to go to metric nor imperial units because it’s actually using nautical units.

They are better suited to angles and units of time. That means nautical miles are directly tied to the actual dimensions of the Earth and the use of sextants, and much more practical to use than metric units.

1 nautical mile = 1/60th of a degree of latitude
1 knot = 1 nautical mile / hour

etc

The metric system is much more handy when you can make use of its decimal nature and in physics where units are constructed on top of each other. Like Newton (force), Newton/meter (work), Newton/meter*second (momentum)

But afaik metric units have no special advantages when terms involving time and angles are used (eg converting units of speed) because the French failed to establish the so called Napoleonic clock (in which a day had 10 hours and hours 100 minutes). Because of this failure the metric system is incomplete in geodesic applications, because the time units lead to unintuitive fractioned numbers just like every other system. Therefore a system that is based on the astronomic properties of Earth is preferrable.

Russian planes used metric system to a much greater extent, but I’m not aware of any advantages and it is usually used together with nautical units as well, so it is an unnecessary complication.
