I have had a fair few issues with MSFS 2024, however I am thinking/hoping I am starting to get it dialled in. I own all the top add-on planes and some not so tope end ones for MSFS 2020, and nearly all the OrbX, Contrail add-ons, Aerosoft etc etc.
I have decided to completely Dump MSFS 2020 and concentrate on MSFS 2024, I miss my add-ons of course but I figure MSFS 2024 is going to be the future and when it works it is amazing, looks great IMHO, and the flight model is many cases is much improved especially ground handling.
I have to admit I have 2 crashes with the A330, but I have been flying the Just Flight RJ-100 and the Fenix birds with MSFS 2024 approved scenery in my add-on store libraires and now that I have it all working I am super happy. I do miss my add-ons but they will come soon.
I have Beyond ATC Supporters pack with the AI and just did a flight from inbuilds KPSP to KPDX Flight beam I think, with beyond ATC and it was amazing especially with the injected Beyond ATC AI using the FSLTL models.
A few things I have discovered that make things easier for me, may not help everyone but have worked for me.
If using Beyond ATC - Set Air Traffic Density to off and AI traffic to off
When loading an add-on plane for the first time, e.g. the Fenix / RJ or whatever else. always load the plane for the first time on a runway, not at a gate! This gives a better chance of the systems compiling fully. I will now do this with all add-on planes and each variant as well (Found on the Just flight forum FAQ for the RJ)
Don’t be afraid to try ultra settings. I have a 4080 and 7900X3D with 64GB Ram and I am getting 75-80fps on the ground at KPSP and KPDX both add-on scenery and with Beyond ATC AI injected and VRASS & GSX in the Fenix and North of 110 FPS once up at the high alts, with Live weather.
If you load a plane and it is all blurry wait till at least all the Cockpit is fully loaded, not waiting for me sees me lose FPS, not sure why.
If you decide to drop MSFS 2020 as well, make sure any add-on with an installer, that you uninstall it using the uninstaller, dont just delete it!!
Anyway, I am slowly rebuilding 2024 back up and since getting past the issues, re-installing the entire sim, it has been a blast, and there is an amazing sim there, I cant wait to take full advantage of it all.
Hopefully as my add-ons are updated and start to trickle back it will just get better and batter
