Yep …thats life.
If you want something, buy it now …or wait and hope it goes on sale sometime!
Personal choice … its the same for everything whenever you buy something!

That would be the fair approach now wouldn’t it. Every customer pays the same price for the same product. Never been a fan of spot sales myself for this reason. A constant overall lower price for everyone is better than high/low variations in my book and would provide a more consistent sales pattern.
A nice idea, but sales over time drop off in an ever flattening curve. Everyone who wants it bad enough will buy it on either launch day or the following week. Some will hang back waiting for a patch or two to be released before jumping in. Others might think it too expensive, and wait for a sale. A lower overall price would catch some of those people, but overall the curved probably wouldn’t look much different, maybe taking a little longer to plateau.
Yeah understand but this one’s still in the honeymoon period and bang a sale. Sales are not so bad once the product has served its purpose at the normal price and perhaps as you explained to be expected at that stage. I guess it’s the devs choice but I’m just generally not a fan of this sale, full price, sale cycle. Ok with lowering the price after some time to a new normal price though to bring in the outlying customers. If you are in the UK you’ll be very familiar with the old ‘Brand new customers only’ gag that mocks companies that continually use that technique.
There’s always going to be someone who buys something a few weeks or days before a sale starts - that’s life.
Given that Black Friday is now ‘a thing’ in the UK, I could’ve guessed that there’d be a sale of some of the third party add-ons and therefore could’ve waited to see if this was going to be reduced, but I wanted it NOW! I therefore bought the BN2T at full price and have been happily flying it for the last fortnight on my Xbox and don’t regret the purchase at all. Given how much I know I’ll be flying it in the future, the cost per hour is going to be negligible in the long run, like all the other aircraft from Blackbox - great value, even at full price!
It’s only a thing if you wish to participate. There are stores that don’t. If you look carefully you see that generally it’s products that are not necessarily the latest. It’s another opportunity to have a end of stock clearance type sale. We’ve seen that also with sim aircraft. Often the newest products are not in the sale. This one is a bit of an exception and on that basis I understand why it was questioned. That’s all.
If a developer chooses not to participate in Black Friday (or any other sale), then that’s up to them… However, Blackbox have often had their aircraft available at lower prices in this and similar sales.
The point I was making, however, is that it was a pretty obvious guess that a sale would be taking place around now, especially as it’s happened in previous years. As I said, “I could’ve guessed that there would be a sale of some add-ons”. It would’ve been easy to wait a few weeks to see what items of interest would be reduced in the sale, but I decided that in the case of the BN2T I was happy to pay full price regardless in order to get it there and then, so that I could fly it immediately. Let’s also not forget that the BN2T had been released on PC a good few weeks earlier, so although it was new to Xbox it certainly wasn’t a new release in the general sense.
I’m not sure if you’re trying to question something I’ve said or are agreeing with me!
Sure you would have to of been living under a rock if you weren’t aware that some aircraft would be on sale during this period. Agreed.
However as I suggested I don’t think anyone would of had flawed logic to not expect this one to be in that sale it being such a new aircraft. For me it’s perfectly reasonable to ask why is this new product on sale so soon because almost all others are not. So on this perhaps we differ.
Well the answer to that is simple - it’s on sale because Blackbox decided to include it.
I’m not sure why people are complaining that developers would have the cheek to reduce their prices occasionally in order to lower costs to customers and entice people to buy that otherwise haven’t… “No please, Mr salesman, I don’t agree with you selling something cheaper, I demand you charge everyone the same price I paid because I feel I’m missing out somehow!”
You’ve not missed out at all… You look at the price of something, if it seems reasonable, you buy it… If it then becomes cheaper the next day, that’s just how life works. Have you never taken advantage of buying something in a sale? And if so, did you feel remorse that you were getting an item cheaper than someone who bought it a day previously would’ve paid? No, of course you didn’t.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t, but in my case I’m not in the slightest bit unhappy that I paid more because I’ve had plenty of extra hours of enjoyment that someone who’s only just picked up the aircraft hasn’t.
That’s a bit strong. No ones demanding anything. Why try to build it up into something it’s not. Someone else asked why further up in this thread and it prompted a discussion. Heck I don’t even have or want this plane so no vested interest at all. Just sympathising with the point and showing some empathy with fellow man. If everyone did the same the world would be a better place and it’s a lot nicer than #### happens I think.
Never mind… Got it sorted…
I’m just glad I picked this up on the Black Friday sale. No way is this plane worth the £36 normal price in my opinion.
Er… its £24.99 Sir … please tell me where you saw the £36 price ?
On the Xbox marketplace it was £36 prior to the Black Friday sale.
As I have bought it I can’t verify that now but it does show on the MSFS marketplace update website as $37.99 and we in the UK pay pretty much the same in GBP after the price hike.
its is still only 29.99 After Dollars to UKP conversion ?
Just the opposite - as I type this, the conversion rate puts £36 at $45.61 US (per Google…).
Could have sworn I saw it at 34.99 or 37.99 USD in the MP prior to Black Friday, at that point it dropped to 19.99 USD.
It’s telling that time and again pricing becomes the main topic of conversation here. Not their strong suit. Still love the aircraft though.
WHERE THE HECK are you seeing it at $45 USD ???
