Of course … we are already Way into our next 2024 Native release …

De Havilland Comet
?
Or VC 10?
Phantastic! You know what I hope for? The HP Victor. A truly extraordinary aircraft.
Given that there’s already a comet in dev, that seems unlikelyish, I’d suspect a comet-adjacent Nimrod would be more likely, IMO.
Could also be a Sperrin, Avro Ashton, or even a trident 3B ![]()
Any of them would be just fab ![]()
I just hope it is almost or as well made as the Tristar.
Does the weather radar work in msfs2024?
As in, I cannot seem to make it work, wondering if it is me or is it just broken.
Depends on the plane, but yes there is a working Bendix weather radar.
I have fiddled with it but have not managed to make it display clouds - it is either nothing or clouds. What is a workable set of settings for it?
What else would you like it to show?
Follow this process when starting ..
Switch from Off to STANDBY First, switching directly to the ON position can fail it
I mean it either shows nothing as clouds or everything as clouds. I want it to only show clouds as clouds.
So I just fired up the Black Square Caravan. I used the following site to find me some stormy weather:
https://badbadweather.com/rain
This is what I see on the weather radar:
Thanks for that link - I did not know about it. ![]()
So I took a look. I love the plane in 2020. I did not see any passengers. Is this just a 2020 update? I love the passengers feature in 2024. Seems like a lot of developers are stuck in 2020.
A range of 5nm really isn’t much to see weather, try setting the range to 40nm. We can’t see your out-of-plane view very well, but it kind of looks like you don’t have much in the way of cloud cover in front of you.
Bendix RDR-150 Weathervision system, specifically the IN-2026A indicator unit
After switching on let it settle for a minute or so so it can warm up. Set to test. You may or may not get a test pattern.
Once all the range rings display AND you have weather, set to WX
Range about 40 Nm
In your picture you do not have it on WX and only 5Nm - not sure about whether you actually had rain there or not.
It won’t show anything unless there are rain cells
Thank you, that is the level of help I was hoping for - in the screenshot I posted I went to the place recommended by badbadweather.com as the rainiest, and tried different range levels and gain levels, doing 360s at different altitudes, and apart from the test pattern could not get it to display anything else.
Will try again using exactly the settings and method you specify.
What was the weather like in that location? If you don’t have many rain clouds around you may. It see anything. Try looking for stormy weather, or use a weather preset.
