LOL. I told them about that the day of release and they said they can’t do everything at the same time and it was WIP…
Not always, and sometimes it’s the opposite, but either way it’s an accepted norm to have sales.
I have a ton of games on Steam that are now far cheaper than what I paid for them at the time. Should I be upset? I don’t believe there is a period where you are entitled to be upset about a price drop, but if there were I would say it would be within a month or two of being released.
I was thinking of picking up this plane but was curious about the VR experience . Other than the zoom issue, do you have any other issues with it flying in VR?
So should I be unhappy that I bought MSFS a year ago and it just went on a sale bigger than the one I bought it on? New products cost more. If you want it for cheaper, wait. Or at least wait for a sale. Almost everything goes on sale I’ve rarely bought anything (I’m not sure I actually bought anything) that wasn’t on sale for MSFS.
It’s been four months, and I’m sure if it was selling like crazy BB wouldn’t have lowered the price.
The initial launch price put it in the realm of “if you’re a fan of this plane” vs “that looks interesting, I’ll check it out.” I’m guessing the price reduction was because sales were slowing significantly because it’s not like this is a super well-known plane.
There’s some folks around that, when I see a post that’s not negative, I’m always pleasantly surprised. Just sayin’.
AH sorry … you must have missed the HUGE full page image on our home page
I used the direct link to the product page that can be found in this forum topic. All products should be on the product page, especially when deep links to the product page are posted all over the web.
Instead of getting snarky one could just be thankful for a little reminder that the product page is incomplete.
Yes, it looks like the product page is not up to date, but the home page does show the Short.
Perhaps this is a new development, or I just wasn’t very observant, but if you look to but the Short it takes you to a different site than the others, and this site has nothing but the Short on sale:

The other products are all sub-pages of the original site:
In either case, not a huge issue, and probably a server migration still underway?
Yep, picked up the full pack on Marketplace (thanks to some MS Rewards credit discounting it even further). Glad I went for the full package instead of a single model. Really nice, as I’d expect from BlackBox!
Really curious what’s next!
I finally got it and did some flying with it.
First impressions: Good overall with good system depth and it’s certainly enjoyable. The texturing, however, is definitely the weak point. As expected from screenshots and videos the cockpit looks very cartoony to me, like a plastic replica and a far cry from the photoreal efforts of other developers, which puts a bit of a dent in my enjoyment. I will get used to it, but I wish a really talented texture artist would give it a serious overhaul.
A couple of issues: the ALT and ALT SELECT autopilot modes keep switching themselves off intermittently. Since every single control input turns these modes off as well I’m suspecting that the sim somehow detects phantom inputs, even when I don’t touch the controls at all. Or perhaps it’s another reason?
Also, considering it’s a flying barn the aircraft (Sherpa) was hard to slow down on approach, even with the engines at full idle. I would expect more drag from a huge/wide airframe like this, please correct me if I’m wrong.
Getting a strange issue …when on the ground after landing (generally) my rudder locks hard to one side and the pedals have no affect …anyone else had this?
If you use FSRealistic, disable the Prop Wash effect for this aircraft. That caused the same issue for me.
Many thanks, I do use FSRealistic …will give it a try !
Update …just removed the prop wash as suggested …and all looks good!
Many thanks
Well, I think I’ll probably have to add this to the list of aircraft I want to grab. The SD3-60 especially. I see one fly over quite often so it’d be fun to fly one in the sim.
Any place we can see which liveries come with the aircraft?
I only have the 360 and, off the top of my head, the only current operator liveries are Air Cargo Carriers and Transair Hawaii. The rest are historical (but all very nice).
I’ve tried to look it up to see what liveries come with it. It seems like information that is surprisingly difficult to find.
The 360 pax version comes with a blank livery, a Blackbox livery, Tiara Air, Prototype Livery, Aer Lingus, Gill Airways, Aurigny Airways, and Qantas Sunstate.
Cargo: Unpainted, Blackbox Cargo, Transair Hawaii, AirCargo Carriers, and Manx Datapost.
I was hoping for some visuals somewhere but I do appreciate your help!
