NVIDIA Control Panel versus IN GAME! BEST PRACTICE?

Inspired by a recent exchange [friendly I assure you] elsewhere, the question of WHERE, -
NVIDIA Control Panel or MSFS 2020’s own OPTIONS pages - is the preferred / best place
[when a choice is available] to ‘set’ any and all of the settings we need to make?

Knowing as we probably all do that the NVIDIA C.P. overrides any equivalent, IN SIM, settings.
If anyone has any thoughts, and in particular [though by no means exclusively] if they can
provide definitive material to back up any claims, I would be grateful if they would post me here.

In hope, thank you.

Frankly I haven’t played a game in years where the NVCPL had any reproducible positive effect so the only changes I do are:

  1. Power Management = Max Performance
  2. Monitor - GSync Compatible

Sometimes I might play with Low Latency but I’ve not seen a reason to keep it on.

I am pretty sure the devs develop based on their own settings and do no rigorous testing on third party overrides so it just seems like less trouble this way. Witness recent posts about about problems some had because they had turned on FXAA in the NVCPL.

I personally have found Nvidia cp the place to go for image quality settings.

There are adjustments I dont find in the sim and that for me have made it so much more pleasing to look at and you can make the settings while the sim is running and see the result immediately.

Duplicated settings such as AA I would always make in the sim.
