So I’m setting vsync on in the nvidia control panel and checked that it’s forced on the profile inspector, but when launching flight sim that has in game vsync turned off, its not matching to 60fps its in the 100 mark in menu.
Turning on in game vsync does work but I’m trying to setup Gsync/freesync with my new monitor and want vsync on in nvidia cp and vsync off in game but getting stutters and I think it’s down the the nvidia vsync is not over riding and working correctly.
You should cap fps to your liking in NCP. I use a freesync monitor with LFC, and I set Gsync and Vsync on in NCP and cap my fps to 30 and leave the game options off, It works great for me.
Hi thanks, yes I can cap fps but I thought vsync is suppose to be on along side gsnyc to stop any tearing, it works perfectly fine with any other game apart from msfs2020.
I find even capping fps to 3 fps below refresh rate I still am getting stutters when moving as in its not smooth like it is on other games.
I have been trying to deal with with issue with nvidia online chat but no luck, it must be a microsoft issue seeing as it’s only flight sim it happens on.
Thanks for the comment, and assistance much appreciated.
Cap your FPS in game to 30, Turn off in game Vsync, Leave Nvidia vsync to default, and make sure Gsync is checked for both full screen and windowed. I’m using 4k and have no issues with either stutters or tearing. I get 30fps in NYC or out in the wilderness and it’s smooth. But everyone’s setups are different! This is how it works for me.
If you have an older freesync monitor without LFC, Gsync can not handle a lower refresh rate than 48hz, try cap fps at 48 or higher to see if it gets better.
I thought tho that vsync needs to work along side gsync to get tear free gaming, putting in a fps limit on the game doesn’t work the same a vsync thats suppose to match refresh rate of the monitor, from reading similar posts people were saying that it seems silly to turn on nvidja vsync if you are going to limit your fps to say 57 or 3 below your refresh rate.
I find it strange how even with gsync disabled sp running fixed refresh rate that the nvidia vsync still doesn’t work and match to the refresh rate of monitor.
I have seen others with similar issue regarding microsoft flight simulator and nvidia vsync not forcing on, but no solutions. I even have the hot fix graphics driver from nvidia last night but still didn’t resolve the issue.
