Ever since the latest driver, micro stutters are virtually nonexistent for me FINALLY! That’s in VR using a 3080 Ti, all the latest DLSS stuff in DLSS Swapper, Preset K, etc. Framerates are still an issue at busy airports, but the micro stutters are what really drove me crazy on average flights. Now I can fly low & slow over neighborhoods, look down, and actually enjoy the scenery instead of focusing on the hiccups. I’m not using the SU3 beta or anything so hopefully that will also improve VRAM usage and I can bump up visual quality from basically the bare minimums I’ve been set to for ages.
What headset and video streaming software are you using?
I just switched from using Meta Link cable to Virtual Desktop on the quest 3 and noticed the hiccups were gone too, but maybe it was because of this driver update.
Quest 3 using the link cable.
Odd, after the driver update I still have the micro stutters with the quest link cable.
With the help of ASUS I carefully updated my BIOS and still had major stutters with 580. Back to 577. The engineer said that for the ASUS 5080 they list as downloadable the NVIDIA drivers that are tested and the last one that passed was 576.28.
BTW, for those who might have an ASUS board they have some ?new GPU overclocking software that allegedly is idiot proof.
Unfortunately I am CPU limited after my $purchase of this board and I really cannot overclock my Ryzen 7950 without liquid cooling, it appears to me at least.
I will try the software as they have three levels of OC and the first is just one button push.
Sorry you’re experiencing crashes. Wanted to throw it out there that I am on a 3060 with the Nvidia app installed (v11.0.4.526) using DX11 and have not had any crashes in at least a year. No idea why we’re having different experiences.
how can i fix this things?
Try and follow the instructions Tenpatrol posted above.
This?
As already mentioned several times, this is NOT the CTD regarding the DX11/DX12 problem. This is just a device hang, there is a long thread dealing with that error.
This driver has now also been giving me device hang errors at random intervals, but always pretty soon(2-15 mins) while flying FS24, in VR. Rolling back to 576.52 fixed and I’m getting great performance. I feel like 580.88 isn’t working with VR and/or 5090s properly, at least not with mine.
This driver prevents me from running msfs2020 using a RTX3060.
Caused me hours of grief and research and trial and error to find the cause and rectify it. Good grief, what brain strain for a 73 year old!![]()
What was the cause?
Confirmed. I tested this on (2) different systems and the CTD issue occurs with no NVIDIA app installed. It seems to happen after switching from 11 to 12 then back. And you likely won’t know until a shutdown/restart of the sim.
Best recommendation after installing drivers is to leave it on DirectX 11 until NVIDIA sorts this out.
I am aware. But tenpatrol specifically told me to post it here:
Did you have a CTD while loading the game, or was it a different issue?
How did you manage to fix it?
Bottom line one way or another is that currently MSFS2020 does not work anymore with DX11. I really do hope the devs are looking into this issue. Tried everything at my end with no luck. My spec is 13900K / Nvidia 5090 / 32Gb DDR5
It does on the older drivers. Not ideal, but it’s an option.
