I have and ASUS MB for my original build and bought the ASUS 5080 when I upgraded. I have used customer support to take me through the BIOS upgrades since they must been done from a USB stick (believe it or not) and people have bricked the system. So I chatted with the engineer while she was fixing my system and she explained that they test every driver for the MB and GCs and only put up for download as indexed by their support pages if the driver passes their tests. I am only back one or two versions but I get a very radical drop in FPS from 50 to 40 in a step pattern and it is reproducible. I get the same pattern after updating the BIOS.
FYI… looks pretty bad operationally too:
I am getting a pretty solid 50 FPS with the older drivers using primarily the B-787. It is smoother with the various 777 models but I prefer to fly the 787.
Thanks for the information and for taking the time to test. As we can see, the motherboard manufacturer definitely plays a role. Could you please share which ASUS motherboard model you have?

Not the highest end but was not planning MSFS 2024 rather purchased to do astrophotography with AI and a few CUDA CORES. I had a 3070 ti and upgraded to try to fix the stutters.
In real life I do a lot of science and you will see a post in the Beta thread on the latest handiwork of MS in .24 with a few before and afters. They managed to bring back my stutters.

It seems that with the new update, SU 16 (1.39.9.0), Osobo has defaulted the DirectX version to DX12 (Beta).
I have remembered setting this to DX11, from recommendation within the PMDG’s forum.

Yeah honestly I think it’s a issue on with MSFS and not only on NVIDIA’s side, you should indeed open a proper bug report
