On 22 Feb 2024, I updated my nvidia driver to the latest. I use GTX 1080. Now the runways in msfs 2020 appear way too blurry. Before the update it was much better. Any suggestion about setting msfs 2020 graphics or/and nvidia control panel?
Before I roll back, I just want to be sure that my msfs 2020 graphics settings and Nvidia control panel settings are ok for Nvidia geforce GTX 1080. Please help.
Uninstall nvdiadia geforce experience or disable game optimization.
Launch MSFS > Options > General options > Graphics
- anisotropic filtering - 16
Apply and save
Anistrophic filtering works better via the Nvidia control panel, disable in sim. & yes 16x works well!
Dear TenPatrol:
Thanks for replying!
How do I disable game optimization?
My system of 2018, still using, is:
CPU- Core i7 8700K 3.70-4.70 GHz, 6 core, 12 MB cache LGA1151 8th gen Processor
GPU- MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X 8 GB DDR 5X Graphics Card
VRAM: 8 GB
**RAM- 32 GB DDR4 3200 Bus Desktop RAM
**HDD- 512 GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD Drive
Mainboard-MSI Z370 Gaming Plus DDR4 4000 MHz Mainboard.
Default Runways appear blurry, also in the flight deck, most instrument inscriptions/letters/numbers are blurry.
How should I set up my graphic settings, from Nvidia control panel or from inside MSFS 2020? I am confused.
Please give me a comprehensive guideline.
Haseen Ahmad.
Greetings -
two settings control the sharpness of textures viewed at very shallow angle in MSFS, the âanisotropic filteringâ and âtexture supersamplingâ
I have set them as follows:
anisotropic filtering: (off in MSFS, 16x in nVidia control panel)
texture supersampling: 6x6 in MSFS
These give me the best compromise between textures crispness and performance (I have a i6700k with gtx 1080 ti at 1080p resolution)
Having texture supersampling at 8x8 give slightly crispier textures but IMHO hardly noticeable, I prefer the small gain in performance
Feel free to experiment
