I know that when MSFS was released, Nvidia had provided a game ready gpu driver. Since then, none of the updated drivers released were specific to MSFS or MSFS graphics. I’m curious if Nvidia would initiate an updated gpu driver for MSFS, as the sim has undergone many changes and updates, or is this something that is initiated through a collaboration between Nvidia and Asobo?
I myself, would be already happy,if they would fix the problem with the blackscreens.
It’s really annoying,if you spent so much money for a video card.

I started getting fewer CTDs with the studio driver rather than the game driver.
From what I can gather just reading the notes, the updates just include optimizations for for new games when they release. The one that included MSFS was released just over a year ago on 17-Aug, 2020.
Hello,
I have moved your post to PC & Hardware. This is where discussion of drivers, cards, etc. goes.
What problem with black screens? I have a 2070 super and have never seen any black screen problems on any driver so far? Is it only specific to certain cards?
I get my drivers from the Nvidia website and always do a clean install of the drivers only. I uncheck and don’t install the other bloatware.
Thank you, my apologies. I almost wonder if this topic would be better off in the Q&A for Developers section…
…then you will not get the settings especially for MSFS! what you complained about at the beginning.
Yes , to the 3000 series.
No problem!
Unfortunately, the Dev Q&A should have closed yesterday. Edit: It closed earlier today.
Maybe my question isn’t clear. I’m not having issues downloading and updating drivers. My question is why hasn’t Nvidia (or why hasn’t Asobo collaborated with Nvidia) to create an updated driver specific to MSFS since the the original game ready driver specific to MSFS released a year ago.
Also, GeForce Experience isn’t some magical thing that creates special settings for MSFS. In my opinion it’s unnecessary bloatware.
Ok, no worries then. Thank you.
Sorry, what the ***** is “bloatware”?
Any software included in a package that has little or nothing to do with what you actually want the package for. Examples would include things like installing Avast as part of the download for a pdf reader, which I’ve seen in the past. Much more common today is something like all the excess apps you get when you purchase a new phone. I had to spend a good half-hour combing through privacy settings and deleting over a dozen gem-this and bubble-that apps the last time I got a new phone.
Oh - thank you very much - I hadn’t found a translation anywhere.
But that doesn’t actually apply to NVIDIA software. It basically does what the thread creator wants: to optimize the driver for MSFS.
I wasn’t looking for this thread to become a debate over over bloatware. I had a legitimate question and if my opinion of GeForce Experience has offended you somehow, I apologize. When you asked what bloatware is, I learned what I needed to know. If the app assists you, great. From my experience it creates additional processes on my system and ultimately slows it down. I find that updating my gpu driver manually and adjusting my settings manually accomplishes the same thing as the app, minus it running in the background and eating up valuable resources.
I find the geforce experience very useful for adjusting the visual appearance of MSFS and for taking screenshots/videos.
As long as you turn off the Auto optimisation of the games so it doesn’t change your graphics settings it’s certainly not bloatware for me.
Look into the freestyle filters section you get when you enable the experimental features of geforce experience. Lots of adjustments you can apply to the visuals from within the sim (Alt+F3)
