How was your experience with the RTX 3080 launch fiasco?
Anyone got one?
I cannot afford one right now, what is wrong with them?
Sitting at the toilet now, could use the RTX 3080 “premium toilet paper” edition right now.
The biggest issue with them is the fact they are made of Unobtainium (unless you are a YT “influencer” in which case they are delivered to you daily, in bulk).
The hype is destroying the market. People are starting to have no patience at all to buy.
Yeah. It’s their money. But…
Not enough cards to meet demand. Question is whether that’s by design or not. There’s certainly rumours going that Nvidia deliberately underproduced their FE cards to create even more hype.
I mean why else would they be selling cards with such superior performance, expensive cooling and design, but at such a relatively low price?
Added to that, Nvidia didn’t give board partners anywhere near enough time to be ready for this launch.
3070 super with 16gb coming and a 3080 super with 20gb coming so dont worry
Got a source please?
All over you-tube with evidence from gigabyte. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rInTrR42DW0
Cool, thank you
Misleading marketing, under production, news embargos until the last freaking minute, failure to protect against bots…
Nvidia plucked it up real good this time. But luckily for us simmers, as long as CPU remains the bottleneck, the 3080 won’t be of much use anyways.
They have to release those. I think they may as they left quite a room between the 3080 and 3090
half of every card that went up for sale were snapped up by a reseller bot. i think you should wait for the super or TI version anyways.
I wonder if there is going to be another issue with “bitcoin” server rush?. Remember a couple of years back when there were basically no cards available, mfgs couldn’t keep up because all the stupid bitcoin miners were gobbling everything up?
I don’t think so. The 30xx cards are not cost effective for mining crypto.
If you have at least a 1080, just wait.
I’d like to see those who bought 40-50 of them having to sell them at 600 $
And avoid using SW from third parties to overclock the GPU just now. Just an advice.
It absolutely was a setup by Nvidia to cause hype then only have a minimum stock of 3080FE’s so users can buy the more expensive and inferior made third party gpu’s. They could have prevented bots from the get go but didn’t.
I actually had the FE in my shopping cart and upon checkout the website froze. I’m looking at this as a blessing in disguise since the 3080 really doesn’t do justice, so now I can wait for the 3080ti and buy it when it’s released.
Same, I feel you! EVGA is restocking a lot though, so I’ll try for an EVGA if the FE doesnt restock
I believe that’s called the “Nintendo Approach”
