I disagree. If a system is unusable and you want to use it, rolling back is your only choice. Unfortunately, to do that properly means knowing how to properly protect a then insecure system. That may mean uninstalling or removing software that could put the system at risk or whatever other steps are necessary.
But to say you never roll drivers back to get a usable system is just as bad of advice as pressing on normally with an insecure system.
