If we are not supposed to overclock a GPU, why should I invest in a more powerful graphics card. If the sim cannot handle more power then ???
What makes you think that the sim can’t handle a more powerful graphics card?
TBH, I’ve found that the amount or extra grunt you can get out of modern CPUs and CPUs by overclocking is so minimal and causes so many issues that it is not worth the effort like it was a fer years back when you could get an extra 20% or more.
So you’re saying that O/Cing the GPU is useless?

I’ve actually become more of a fan of under-volting than over-clocking.
Same performance for the most part, less heat/power. Assuming your card has under-volting headroom. Most seem to.
It’s not that the Sim can’t handle it, it’s more that Overclocks can be unstable and cause crashes/errors etc. so they don’t recommend to do it for that reason.
Not at all, you just have to make sure that your Overclock or Undervolt is stable
Sometimes even getting better performance! (prevents thermal throttling and from reaching the current/power draw limit)
I am also a big fan of CPU and GPU undervolting while keeping stock speeds ![]()
I have a eVga 2080ti
1000% agree …
