OAT of 248 C ?! (Impacts negatively on aircraft performance and autopilot function)

just tired …after 1 year…just tired…

Yes, it was really annoying. Have you tried this simple work around ?

I’m at 45K in the F-15 with live weather on now. The temp is at 173. It’s hot, but it’s manageable.

I’m over Lake Victoria at FL380 and all seems ok for the moment.

One other positive thought about this.

It’s great to have a simulator that has weather effects built into its engine performance model. So the temp goes to 200C and my ITT shoots up and the engines fry. The model also works the other way when at altitude in cold air and getting better performance as it should.

It is the depth of the simulator model that creates the issue when another part of the sim malfunctions, but still so cool we have something that models real mechanisms.

It’s fixed in the open beta. Sign up for that if you want the fix now

Flight from EDDK to LFMN all works well today.

This thread is still tagged feedback-logged which according to New Tag System means they haven’t even confirmed it, let alone fixed it.

Is fixed in the beta though. Look at the beta threads and you can opt in if you want

I’m a 2nd class Steam citizen. I cannot take part in the “flight” (beta).
Of course Steam has this whole system for betas, but Microsoft cannot be bothered to supply both distribution channels with the same beta.

I’m 7 hours into a flight from Heathrow to Shanghai and all ok so far - no issues - cruising at FL410 currently. A few days ago it went mad over Russia, but ok this time. I’m using Live Weather. Before loading the flight, I adjusted the time of day to the previous day 7 Dec 2021, time: 13.00GMT, not sure if that would have made a difference?

I was going to learn how to operate the autopilot this evening. Is there any workaround for me to be able to do that given that this OAT issue seems to be back?

You can just disable live weather.

At FL430 in East USA server, not problem at all.

Judging by those responses I’ll flip back my report on the test forum to not fixed.

You should report what you are experiencing, not what others are reporting in the public threads.

If you are experiencing it while participating in the Beta, yes please report it as having been not fixed.

I haven’t seen Asobo Global Boiling (copyright @GenBrienYQB) in the beta. So I’ve marked it as fixed there.

Every test flight I havee done in beta, does NOT have the temperature jump at high altitudes.

This is what it should do
This is what it does

Is anyone claiming it is NOT fixed in the latest beta ??

Climbing out of VHHH temperature jumped to over 200c. Can we please fix this? It has gone on too long.

Yep, another solar flare hit me tonight. I was able to get a couple of fights in with no issues with live weather then…
I’m going to test tonight to see if it only happens in a certain place, or maybe its a certain time as it was this time last night it screwed up a flight.

Flying from MMMY to MMMX tonight, as soon as I took off temperature went to over 200°, I had to turn off real weather, I just thought this problem had been fixed a week ago.
