I think it’s DLSS plus a mainthread/gpu imbalance in your settings, a screenshot of the devmode fps counter should say more but does this ghosting improve/disappear if you lower your LODs?

I have the same issues since the very early release days of this sim. This “smearing” affects mainly moving 3D objects like planes, birds, or when you move past objects.

Even a GPU change hasn’t an effect.Seems like a bug in the graphics engine.

Really? Have you tried changing low latency mode?

By reports on here it seems a very rare problem so I doubt it’s a bug. More likely your monitor has a slow resonse time.

hmmm…what did you mean by latency mode?

Tell me more please

In NVCP global there are 3 latency settings. Off will wait before drawing frames, On will redraw the last frame until the next one is issued, and Ultra will draw each frame once and then draw the next straight away in the hope that your monitor / connecting cable can keep up. It’s the best but useless for recording or shadowplay.

Oookay, I didn’t know that. I will give it a go and report back.

Back from testing and the results are not very promising to be honest. I’'ve tested all 3 settings (off by default, on and ultra)

The latter two seems to have little to no effect. With Ultra, the “smearing” seems to be reduced a litte bit, but this could be a placebo as well.

Not beta specific and we’re getting off topic here so I’m going to stop, last word is to say check out your monitor and connecting cable, they both need to be fast enough.

Have to chime in here, I’ve got exactly the same thing, since the early days of the sim. I believe it’s related to Asobos TAA implementation.

No amount of tinkering with settings or control panel options ever got rid of it.

Was hoping it would be finally gone with DX12 but the problem persists, at least with TAA. Haven’t actually tried with DLSS yet.

This isn’t an issue with SU11, as this issue has persisted for quite a while. A quick forum search for “ghosting” will show you how prevalent it is.

It’s also not exclusively a DLSS issue, as I also get this using TAA when certain surfaces are in the background against a moving object. Clouds and taxiway/runway are the usual background when I notice this ghosting.

I’ve had this issue for a very long time using TAA. Always 100x worse when it’s cloudy. Definitely not a new issue, but I fear Asobo/MS may not understand how common this problem is because it’s hard to describe, so I don’t know if there’s even a consistent voting thread for it.

Edit: I found a new voting thread for this problem, not sure if there are others: Awful Ghosting when Clouds are presents (TAA ON or OFF) with Video - Bug Reports / Install, Performance & Graphics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
