Oculus Quest 2 no longer working (seen) with their Link cable

Hi All,

Since yesterday, my brand new Oculus Quest 2 and Link Cable is no longer being seen correctly by windows 10 (which I updated to the latest patches over the weekend). It was working fine before… windows now sees it (as an external usb drive F:) and how the Oculus software does not see it being connected. Is anyone else having this problem? I submitted a ticket to Oculus about it last night…

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim

I had a similar issue with Oculus Rift, I just re-ran and did a repair using Oculus software and it’s working again.

Hi Kloot8200 - I’ve tried that, but it didn’t work…may try it again, though…

My Quest 2 was driving me crazy because it would repeatedly disconnect from Link and therefore the PC. Finally, I found a function in the Occulus app that allows one to test the USB cable to make sure it is “USB 3”. I ran the test, and my USB 3 cable that I purchased from Amazon was showing up as a USB 2, even after several tests.

This led to my experimenting by unplugging the cable from one port on my computer and plugging it into a different one.

I don’t know how or why, but it worked. Not only did the test confirm that it was a USB 3, but I have not had that disconnect issue ever since.

Hi - I re-ran the Quest 2 setup, connected the Link cable, and it’s seeing it correctly again…weird…thanks @Kloot8200 for the suggestion!
Jim
