Is it not on the BETA tab?
On beta tab i still have the same options as before
Ah OK.
According to Oculus it is very imminent per their support website.
imminent but still on V27 on my headset⦠waitingā¦
Patience Grasshopperā¦
still nothing, V28 announced on 14 but not coming⦠strangeā¦
Oculus does staged rollouts of updates. Nobody is getting V28 on their headset til tomorrow at the soonest, and for many itāll be days or even a week or two before they get it.
In addition to that, they also activate new features in stages, so even if you had v28 firmware, you still probably wouldnāt have the new AirLink or other features for a while.
One last general note ā the PC app and headset firmware are two different things. Both of them have the same version number, but to use new features like AirLink you need both the headset firmware and PC software updated.
Thanks, but i found it a bit useless to make an announcement and then spend days or weeks to deliver
Itās called āPriming your customer baseā.
I have V28 on both my Quest 2 and Oculus PC app but no option to enable Air Link anywhere.
Same here, no new option
ok ok we must wait ⦠againā¦
what oculus says : * Note: Air Link is part of v28 but it requires that both your headset and PC be running v28 software. That means weāll be unlocking Air Link once both Quest and PC v28 releases are rolled out, which will happen soon - but you wonāt see Air Link just yet, so stay tuned.
Stay tuned !!!
Finally got both PC and Quest 2 on V28. Air link dropped in today. Initial try was atrocious and gave me a terrible headache. Once bitrate set to 0 in ODT, things smoothened out. Better resolution and frame rate than wired Link.
For me, visual quality is definitely subpar compared to wired link, and visual will stutter/lag with Encode Resolution anything higher than 2352 in OTT. Since I can adjust FOV with OTT, the game performs as good as on cable, only doesnāt look as sharp.
One thing for sure, thereās little reason to purchase Virtual Desktop solely for playing MSFS now that Airlink is available and free.
Now let me walk back to the galley of the 747 while the autopilot is ONā¦
Did you try setting encode resolution width = 0 and encode bitrate (Mbps) = 0 in Oculus Debug Tool? I never thought I could get a better resolution and smooth gameplay on air link as opposed to wired. My middling PC specs are OCād i5 9600K, 1070ti, 32G Corsair. Iām not sure if Oculus Tray Tool is optimized for air link yet. Or is it?
me?
Yeah the game run smoothly without messing with the encode resolution and encode bitrate.
Since the Airlink currently max out at 200mbps, my USB is superior with 300mbps bitrate and encode resolution higher than 3800.
Still, AIrlink will be the way to go for some other games like HL Alyx.
Just got the version 28 update on my Quest 2 an hour ago. Did a quick test flight with AirLink (no tinkering at all, just a quick flight to see if / how it works), and I must say Iām impressed with the āout of the boxā experience. It just works, and it works well.
Pretty sure Iām going to have to do some tinkering to get it even better, but must say, Iām impressed with it.
