Hosted by @SeedyL3205, @Jummivana, @Pieter2427, and @simtom2

When: Friday, February 3 @ 1900Z for two hours.
Where: The Official Twitch Channel of MSFS

There will also be a Discord event channel open for those who want to voice chat with other members of the community.

Please see below for details on the upcoming Fly-In Event:

Friday, February 3 is the anniversary of the signing of the 1958 treaty that led to the Benelux Union, an economic and political alliance between Belgium :belgium:, The Netherlands :netherlands:, and Luxembourg :luxembourg:. The Benelux treaty was highly influential in the history of European politics in the latter half of the 20th Century and is seen as a predecessor to the EU. To mark the occasion, this week’s Friday Fly-In will see us visit all three countries from the Benelux Union, starting at Amsterdam then proceeding to The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels, and finally a full-stop landing at Luxembourg. En route, we will also pass several famous landmarks including the Windmills at Kinderdijk and the Spa-Francorchamps F1 circuit.

Pilots on PC can download the .pln file below:
2023-02-03 Benelux.PLN (6.5 KB)

We will be starting at EHAM. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

Recommended aircraft: Daher TBM, Cirrus Vision Jet (Marketplace), or any plane of your choice that can maintain a cruise speed of about 200 knots.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Variable Setting
Server SE Asia
Multiplayer All Players
Live traffic As preferred
Weather Few Clouds
Time of Day Daytime

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

This is meant to be a fun and informal flight. Everybody is welcome, no matter the amount of experience.

Is the new start time pernament or will we return to 2000Z soon?

Permanent for the time being. We may re-evaluate it later.

Hello, there is a typo in TBM name, it’s Daher TBM.

Dahar is somewhere in Azerbaijan. Maybe that is a clue for a future Community Friday Fly location.

I might fly along this week have got some spare time to burn this evening.

Good lord those look good. :star_struck:

Why the SE Asia server and not the West Europe server, since this is a european flightplan and presumably mostly Europeans joining? The SE Asia server has the worst ping of all!

It’s usually the least busy, and certainly in the early days the mass influx of people onto West Europe (which I believe was where we first started) used to result in server problems for many. Maybe that would be better now, not sure.

BTW, I’m personally not very keen on a permanent start time shift to 1900Z… I usually like to have dinner etc out of the way beforehand. But any time you pick is going to be inconvenient for some, I guess.

Server load sounds like a good reason to pick SE Asia instead, I didn’t think of that. I agree, 1900 (CET) is a bit early and diner time for many.

Thanks for spotting it! Fixed.

Thanks that was cool! First one I have taken part in :grinning:

Glad you enjoyed it @UnlimitedBagels! We do these every week, so hopefully we’ll see you back next time.

First community event I have taken part in. Was great fun! I’m from The Netherlands so that made it extra special. Can’t wait for the next one!

Thanks for the great evening, everyone. I have a request, though. Can the flight plan be shared in text form for us Xbox users for future flights? Though the herd was big enough to know where to go, I didn’t know what to look at. Thanks in advance.
