It’s the Captain Sim 777-200ER with Salty Mod, so you can get the plane from the marketplace (if it works for you) or just google another site who sells it. The inside view is just using the drone cam in the showcase cam mode.
Yes, but comparing this sim to a car is even less accurate than comparing apples to oranges.
I admire your optimism but…history shows that what they say and what they do are often two different things.
Let’s hope you’re right.
Yes, of course they don’t

Let’s compile a list of Aircraft that are confirmed to come to Xbox - Community / Marketplace - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
Curious why there are twice as many wishes than bugs listed in the update. Certain bugs like AA shimmering and cloud pixilation have nearly 300 votes and would fall under the second page of bugs if Asobo would include it. I bring this up because I am eager to see Asobo address some of those issues further and see whether they have a status of being worked on, and if so when to expect a solution.
First of all, we get pot beating for VR. That makes a lot of (new) VR people happy.
Mostly useless, but ok, a big wish.
The clean picture then maybe next year. xD
Oh boy, was out in the rain for 2 hours. In VR, the different shadow maps are really eye-catching.
My eyes are still cross…
Let alone the brutal stuttering and frame rates since last update.
It is totally predictable that Microsoft released this new version of flight simulator only when they thought it would make good money for the MS corporation. Central to this decision was the XBox franschise.
Also completely predictable that 3rd P devs are not willing to put their reputation on the line by trying to release aircraft that work effectively on XBox when the odds are stacked against them. Hence the unwelcome emphasis on eye candy rather than equipment on the XBox marketplace.
The SDk is half baked/ evolving and the issues show every day. To XBox users I ask “what did you expect?” To PC users I ask the same question.
It will take years for this to turn into a “good” simulator. Since splitting XBox and PC development into two distinctive streams (whilst desirable) is not commercially viable for MS.
I suspect those with simpits and hard core “simmers” with multi screen and controllers are already moving back to platforms that give them realism - because they know this will be a long time delivering on expectations.
I think Microsobo definitely have the Xbox at heart, as much has been done at the detriment of PC to make it work on Xbox. They had no issues dumbing down graphics, interface, etc to make it easier to play with an Xbox controller, even if these changes hurt the PC experience.
When it comes to 3rd party devs, where the overwhelming majority of aftermarket planes come from, not so much. Not every 3rd party dev is willing to compromise their products so that it can be sold on Xbox.
In any case, it took quite a long time before PC started seeing a number of 3rd party planes in the marketplace. I suspect they’ll be coming for Xbox as well in good time.
Not my post but if I understood correctly the following will be in the GOTY update at least:
new planes, airports, missions, cities, and tutorials. Also updated weather system, and early access to DX12
maybe this helps you?
There’s such stigma against Xbox players in this forum. Someone once told me “this isn’t Fortnite” when I was commenting on a bug with Achievements. Not everyone has the time or money to purchase and maintain a massive beast of a rig just to be able to fly MSFS. That doesn’t mean we’re not serious simmers: many of us pilots or lifelong aviation enthusiasts.
I wonder the same thing. There are only 24 actual (general) bugs listed. VR literally has its own section as large as all other bugs combined. They need to open up the list/make it more transparent.
I think the reason PC players are upset is because what happened to MSFS on release for Xbox.
I think you’re right. I also think it’s misguided anger/frustration. Xbox users aren’t the devs.
True. While I hate that the Xbox was introduced, I certainly don’t blame the players.
Asobo said repeatedly that the Xbox won’t hurt the PC, but the opposite happened and is still happening, particularly some graphics downgrades.
I’ve used many sims over the years. Pro Pilot, Pro Pilot '99, Fly!, Fly! 2K, FS98, FS2002, FS2004, FSX, P3Dv3/v4/v5, XP9, XP11 and probably a couple more I forgot. I have a massive amount of addons for the sims I currently use (MSFS, XP11 and P3Dv4/v5) and loads of flight sim hardware. Honestly it really isn’t difficult to understand why PC users are upset. Does it mean it’s justified for PC users to lash out at console users? Of course not.
Aha! A conspiracy! Of course. It’s a grand master plan though with very long term and diabolical thinking. Something like this:
I know! Let’s find a way of really getting back at those nasty PC simmers that have been the bane of our lives for years - they’ve never given us a penny over the years for all our previous flight sims. What we’ll do is create a great flight sim - one that will blow everything else out of the water. To do it we’ll invest years and years in it and spent millions and millions of dollars developing it and putting the complicated infrastructure in place, signing deals with lots of third parties to provide weather, nav data, you name it. It will be the sim to end all sims!
But of course, those pesky simmers won’t see our plan at all, because we’ll tell them the sim is for them, when, in reality it’s for XBOX!!! [cue maniacal laughter]. Then, once the PC simmers are hooked, we’ll take all that good work we’ve done, and throw it all away and make the sim really bad so it will really appeal to those [insert bad word] xbox gamers who won’t know their IFR from their elbow. Can you imagine how upset the PC simmers will be!!! It’s a genious plan…
I mean c’mon, we need to get over this nonesense.
I am a PC user, who has spent thousands in HW alone for this sim and I am not at all upset. SU5 brought such a huge improvement for the performance of the sim and clean-up of the code so it is much easier to to build upon it not only for Asobo, but also for 3rd party devs, that I cannot understand the still ongoing uproar. Some people don’t seem able to grasp bigger pictures than “they did it to screw us because of Xbox”.
I’m not upset myself (but I kinda was when it was released on Xbox. It wasn’t because I didn’t think MSFS didn’t belong on the Xbox but because PC users were affected with it’s release), however I’m not sure if this is because I have other sims with a lot of addons to to fall back on.
