Okavango delta anyone?

We have great news at the end of the year!

After a long time and a partial rebuild, we have finally fixed Okavango Delta, and it is once again available! One of the most popular sceneries for FS2020 when it released, SWS Okavango Delta allows you to visit one of the most rich and diverse natural habitats on the planet! This latest version increases the total number of airstrips to 29 and features rebuilt water polygons and even more animals! And remember: always watch out for birds and animals near the airstrips!

The scenery is now available on our website at a discounted price of €11.99 until January 7th. We are currently pushing it to the other vendors, but due to the holiday break, we cannot tell when it will be available on their storefronts.

I see that this is now available in the in-sim marketplace for FS2024, although I’m surprised that there doesn’t seem to be any upgrade path for previous owners. I bought this in FS2020, and for most of the time I owned it, it has been completely unusable.

In the intervening time, most of us have moved on to FS2024, but in the marketplace there, it doesn’t show as owned for me, or offer an upgrade - just 'buy’ for £23. Quite disappointing, unless I’m missing something?

That is disappointing- would expect an upgrade offer for previous 2020 owners. Maybe someone could raise this with the devs ?

I know SWS have said it was Microsoft who broke it so it’s not their fault but it’s not the consumers fault either?

I am impatient so have just picked it up half price from simmarket but maybe in future offer a discounted upgrade price for existing customers as a compromise.

When I logged in tonight there was a notification that new content was available from FS2020 and, yes indeed, Okavanga Delta ready to be used in FS2024.

Seems I jumped the gun a little in my complaining (well, what’s a middle-aged guy supposed to do?), so apologies to Simworks Studios, and thanks for the hard work in getting an excellent scenery in an unfortunately neglected part of the world back up and running.
Looking forward to visiting the animals in first person :giraffe:

Also confirming that if you bought direct from SWS the updated version is in your library at no charge.

Free update for in Sim Marketplace owners too - very happy about this! Thanks to the developer.

On Xbox.

Anyone found any moving animals yet? I’ve done a.couple of flights but I’ve only found stationary animals so far. In 2020 it had a mix of both.

I appreciate the free upgrade but I’m not sure it would be worth buying in 2024 unless I’m missing something.

I’m left confused. The 2020 version did show up in my library in 2024 but is this the updated version? Or is there a newer native 2024 version with all of the upgrades?

From what the dev said above, it’s just a 2020 version that is compatible with 2024, no native version, as yet.

Yeah - the animals are stationary and have not been updated to „live“ versions unfortunately. Hopefully a future version will change this.

So if it’s still for 2020, then I assume you don’t get the Safari Wings livery for the C208 Caravan in 2024 right?

Can someone make these three cars so I can drive across it?

Thanks for the reminder to hit the makgadikgadi pans on my world tour.

No, I don’t believe so, although I guess you could enable the 2020 version of the Caravan in MSFS2024 (this will disable the 2024 Caravan) and the livery ‘should’ work if you then copy it from your 2020 community folder (if you have it).

Reinstalled the Delta tonight in 2020. Only had about a 1.5-2 minute load time. I did notice a much higher cpu load during loading and after spawning in. Despite that, everything seemed to work as I remember. Did not happen across any fauna as my time was short tonight.

Look forward to trying it in 24 within the week.
