Old Airliners Wishlist

In the pipeline!

All great suggestions.
Personally, I hope there will be medium complexity versions of these (i.e. no failures modelled) and at a very similar price to the JustFlight Avro Vulcan.

Couldn’t agree more. The 1-11 is the first airliner I ever travelled on.
I must have been around eight years old. After all the excitement of waiting, boarding and take off I fell asleep and when I woke up my father’s seat was empty. A very nice stewardess took me up front to the cockpit and there was dad sitting in the left hand seat talking to the pilot.
It was all absolutely astonishing!

Big vote for the VC10 too. Quiet, roomy and comfortable; at least the RAF ones were…

I’d love an Ilyushin Il-14 to cover some domestic Interflug schedules. I wouldn’t be opposed to a Tu-134/154 or Il-18/62, though.

We need some hi-fi classic turboprop, like an F27 or HS748

Viscount - this thing was a lot more popular than people realise, I think. F-27, 748. ( Might be a common theme about engines there! ). I’ve been idly asking for these for years.

DH Dove/Heron, just because.

Possibly a 377, I’m not sure how much I’d really fly it. Would complete the trifecta of piston quads though.

A Short Bros. flying boat. There were a lot, relatively speaking.

Hello new user here. I totally agree. Just yesterday i was thinking the exact same thing! The game only has super-new aircraft and super-OLD aircraft but nothing in between. There are none of the (imo) true classic heavyweights of air transport history!! 737-200? ring any bells? DC-9? MD88? 727? these aircraft were a fundamental part of air travel and there’s not even a hint of them! The game however is stuffed with weird things some of us have never heard of, but there’s not a trace of the true classics. I dont get it.

I’d like to have the Caravelle.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting any updates on Blackbird’s 737-200 and Aerodynamics DC/KC-10. And while the Dash-8 is not an ā€œoldā€ airliner, I would love to see one in the sim, even the original Dash-8-100 would better than nothing, although I would prefer the Dash-8 Q400… Where is the classic Turbo Prop love?

Nope I am talking about the one from Redwing. I do not have any stock in it and I have already mentioned that the 3D model definitely needs some work, which they have promised but not yet delivered.
The rest of the simulation is in my opinion actually quite good. Not perfect and not on the same level as PMDG DC-6 but not bad.
Personally I do not have anything from Captain Sim so I can not compare the product to those. And I don’t pay much attention to some guys YouTube dissection of an aircraft when I do not know the sources qualification. Some of these were made on the pre-release version or the first offering, which was released as a work in progress, with a clearly outlined development process and an active Discord group where users and creators can work together in making it a greater product.
You have to remember the R3350s were some of the most complex engines ever hung on an airplane, with PRTs and two-speed superchargers, some of that is modeled in this aircraft.
But the SDK and the constant changes of the sim also make it tough for a one-person shop to develop such a complex aircraft.
There were 4-6 of us in the team that developed the Connies for FS9/X and we were stretched quite thin between real life and sim. And that was with a very stable sim platform….where not much changed.
Though FSX was different enough to throw some curve balls.

I still love our Connies, and if I could I would port them over into MSFS. They were by the book in every sense of the way. But they were limited to some extent by the old simulators.

Just Flight said they’re ā€œconsideringā€ an F27

Majestic have been updating recently, saying they’re working on a 400 and a 300. Given they’ve taken three years so far I’m not sure what state it’s in, but at least it’s not dead!

That was a while ago too, I vaguely remember some talk of custom turboprop simulation also. Not heared anything since though. If Blacksquare’s custom code ( I presume there’s going to be custom TP code anyway given the talk ) for his latest offering is any good maybe that is a route forwards. Don’t know an awful lot about Darts but I think they’re a little simpler than PT6s, removing things is easier than adding…

The lack of 707 is a little surprising. The amount of options you could squeeze out of that family is ridiculous.

There’s still some local legends and famous flyers coming this year, maybe the 707 is going to be one of them ?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. Then again, there’s so many aircraft that would fit that… It’ shard to say.

Yes, please. Hold on, incoming barrel rolls.

When I think of the fact that this wing was designed in the 50’s… using slide rules… man that’s really something aint it..

Well, we have BAe 146 from that period. But, yes, there is room (in virtual hangar) for other aircraft from that time. All of the aircraft youmention, would be highly appreciated.

A few weeks ago they said to me in a comment on their fanpage that they’re ā€œconsideringā€ an F27. And Dart-type engines can be correctly simulated using the vanilla code. See the Azurpoly C-160 which also has RR single shaft engines

It ( the C-160 ) does, but they’re a bit off & the response was that it’s a problem with the default turboprop code. I’ve only recently started playing with it & having some problems, but I’m not going to blame them on the TP code yet when they’re probably mostly me so far.
