Are we to assume that we are getting no more VR fixes until MSFS2024? I ask as the last update with (only a few) VR fixes was in SU12 in March of last year. The highly voted for bugs still remain from years ago, the last Q&A was yet again extremely vague on any VR details.
Shall we just give up reporting VR issues with this Sim now? Are we to put up with the constant, very obvious issues forever more?
To be honest I’m pretty happy with VR in MSFS. Some features would be nice (teleporting for walk-around) but I consider them nonessential for the flight itself.
What issues annoy you the most?
The feature I miss the most is the lack of support for QuadViews, in DCS this feature allows massive (+50%?) FPS increase for headsets supporting Eye Tracking and Dynamic Foveated Rendering.
Yes the shut down bug, not being able to use certain buttons/vinyls when the mouse is over a toolbar window, the “jumping” horizon are just to name a few.
I like VR flying in this simulation, but there’s clearly a lack of intention in fixing the obvious issues, the shut down one in particular.
I have no issues with using any buttons in VR. What do you mean by “vinyls”?
I have no problem with “jumping horizon”.
But I would welcome performance improvement via QuadViews implementation, like it is implemented in DCS.
The shutdown bug is probably the jump of the image in VR (and reset of the panels position) during shutting down the plane (mixture off, magneto off, avionics off).
Really annoying.
Another one is sometimes the mouse loses focus and clicking doesn’t work. Need to wake the controller and then the mouse clicks, most of the time.
Just because you have no issues doesn’t mean they don’t exist (vinyls sorry that was controls, with certain bindings I am unable to use them when the mouse is over a toolbar window), everyone is rightly saying VR is very good (which is not what the subject was about) in this game but it could be a lot better if they fixed the issues that appeared in past Sim Updates.
The main questions resides, no bug fixes for a year, no new features for 2+years I think.
Trying to use VR controllers, which for me is another massive boost to immersion and enjoyment of the different aircraft/cockpits. Like the OP I have mostly given up doing full reports as there is no acknowledgement of reports or any response to them.
Off the top of my head:
-Not being able to control stick/yoke with tilt sensor like in other sims- makes it very difficult to fly and very likely to lose tracking when you turn your head - I have given up on using controllers for stick/yoke and now just use one in my right hand for instruments, which would still be good except:
-Not being able too move throttles together on most multi engine aircraft makes them unflyable. Asobo did make a fix to this shortly after VR controllers were implemented, but the fix only applied to the default aircraft at the time and not 3rd party aircraft or first party aircraft released since then .
-usually when a controller is put down/loses tracking, it appears hovering fixed in front of your face - i imagine it’s position is reset to the camera position
-Many aircraft including default ones have wrong/reversed levers - eg have to grab flap lever and pull up to make it go down
-Circle with pointer arrow (like the one used in checklists to help you find the correct button) appears almost all the time
-Inconsistent push/pull mechanics for knobs on autopilot etc
