Open Career mode to developers

There are a lot of requests in this forum that involve changes in how Career mode is done. In my opinion this means that most of us love this game mode but it’s far from what we would like. Filter missions, different planes, diversity of missions, new mission types… Maybe it’s too much, and MS-Asobo must take care also of other important issues.

That’s why I’m suggesting that MS opens Career Mode to developers. I’m not a dev, but I’ve seen pretty good things in MSFS 2020 that were done by external developers, from ATC to Bush trips (wonderful bush trips!).

So why don’t you just let devs improve this game mode? I like Career Mode and I’ll continue playing it along with my free flights. I’m sure that we all are willing to pay some money to devs that create good mods for this mode.

I agree.

If MS / Asobo do not use the community and developers, I think it will take 2-3 years to overcome the vast amount of bugs there are in FS2024.

I will continue to use and enjoy it, but it can be frustrating when you again see the bugs that were present at the beginning of FS2020.

Ultimately, I would even want to see a mission editor similar to what exists in DCS. That way every user can put together interesting missions.

:100: I agree! Asobo and Microsoft seem to have their hands full with all the other bugs in this sim. Let the devs improve the career mode.

I’d be open to MS/Asobo keeping the career system they’ve built, but allow 3rd parties to create separate careers. For achievements and other things like that, everyone has to go through the default career. But let VAs and other entities create other “career” experiences. I think some enterprising devs could come up with some really cool career mods!
