Just installed the latest version of Open XR (version 107 ) and noticed a slight improvement with stutters. Anyone else notice anything? Was having issues flying into LAX, CDG, and London, horrible VR performance. Just made 2 flights to/from LAX and seemed better. Continuing to test.
Thanks for the heads-up!
Definetly an improvement in performance. I was flying about California photogrammetry cities and noticed the astonishingly good framerate. Before it was often a hell of stuttering.
which headset are you using? wmr based?
may be they have improved the reprojection?
Did the updat pop in the MS store? Nothing yet here. Thanks for the heads up!
Edit: nevermind, just got it, I had to refresh ![]()
Thanks!
Installed it. Will report if any significant findings.
I just completed a flight from KLAS to KLAX (my typical test flight), and I can honestly say I’ve never had such a low stutter flight. Normally I would experience extreme stutters about 5-10 NM miles from the runway at KLAX, as well as one or two other occasions in the LA area of mild to moderate stutters, but today only a few very mild ones. The only thing that changed is the OpenXR update. I know one flight in itself proves nothing, but this is the most optimistic I’ve been in a long time. I hope everyone is having a similar experience.
I forgot to mention that I was flying the Airbus A32NX (FBW) in VR mode for my trip to KLAX.
I have to agree.
Just completed 2 small flights and it seems clear that the ride is smoother.
It was especially visible on the sides, where the picture is moving a bit faster, or when I turned. Also, no stutter on my flights - may be related to something else but, I won’t complain.
This is a nice improvement overall with this 107 version.
yes i had, the first USB connection error with my G2 ![]()
Back to 60 Hz, reset and back to 90 hz did the trick worked again, I dont see any performance improvements.
Did a couple more flights from San Diego to LAX, still stutters and went blank for a second but it is better than before (before I couldn’t even finish the approach it was so bad). Asobo still needs to fix. I would suggest if you or anyone else is still having issues to open a ticket with Asobo Support, the more tickets submitted, perhaps they’ll make this a priority!
106093 VR stutter, goes blank, goes blue, goes back to WMR, FS2020 freezes.
Reverb G2 and WMR based
Updated to ver 107, its showing the correct 107 in about tab but still shows ver 105 as the runtime version, this also happened after updating to version 106 the last update.
On a positive note i do have the option of a minimum of 20 render scale.
Any advice on the different versions shown would be very welcome.
Why does the reprojection seem to stick at the 22 fps when my system is barely being used and could easily hold 30 fps in airliners and 45 for GA in most situations?
Not that it matters an awful lot for me given the sim is still an utter crashfest!
where can you update this ??
I got OpenXR through the Windows Store. All I had to do was sign in to the store, and without doing anything more I saw a notification that my OpenXR had been updated. I think this is how it worked for the last update as well. I hope it’s just as easy for you.
Click the button ‘Run most Current Version’

I’ve submitted 4-5 tickets to Zendesk in the past few weeks regarding the extreme stutters in the LA area. I have had the worst problems around the WLNUT and DODGR waypoints. The stutters never lasted that long, probably two minutes or so (always seems longer than it is), but that is long enough to lose any sense of immersion, especially since looking around at the city below during approach and landing is my favorite part of the flight.
