OpenCockpits MCP V3 disconnect randomly

Hi,

I recently bought a used MCP from OpenCockpits V3

Unfortunately I discovered a problem with MCP.

At some point during operation, which can happen after 20 minutes or even after 3 hours, the MCP no longer reacts.

I have to unplug the power cable from MCP and plug it back in, but also need to restart the software until it responds.

I can almost rule out software problems because I also had the problem with SPADNEXT.

I also bought the complete software from flightsim4fun.

The problem is really very strange and occurs very sporadically, it can cause no problems for several hours or it happens every 10 to 20 minutes.

Somehow I have the feeling that MCP has a quirk.

Does anyone else have an OpenCockpits MCP here? knows such problems?

Have you checked the power supply? This unit needs a USB connection and a power supply to operate. FWIW

Hi,

I have a power supply with 6V but 1A…

According to the homepage it needs 2A.

It could also be because my power supply has too little power.

Because it sometimes works for 2-3 hours.

and another question:

How do you turn off the lights on the MCP and EFIS?

I have to unplug the power cord every time.

Thanks

There in is your problem. If it needs 2 amps than you need to supply it with two amps. You can probably get a replacement off of Amazon. Make sure your new power supply has the correct plugin + and - setup as there are a lot of different configurations. I am surprised that your power supply has not gotten very hot and then failed…FWIW

Hi Jalalabad1977, did changing the power supply help? I ask because I also experience a similar problem with an Opencockpits MCP v2 and I haven’t been able to find a fix…

Hi,

I got a strong power supply, but still had problems…

But…

Whatever the reason, I haven’t had any problems for 5 months… I’ve probably flown over 500 hours and it hasn’t failed once.
