I’m not sure if this is the right subforum for this, but does anyone have any Opentrack profiles they’ve created? I’m too lazy and not enough time to mess with it beyond just basic calibration.
Hello IslamTurtle, I haven’t used Opentrack or even FaceTrackNoIR since MSFS early alpha days, but I will see what I can come up with Friday or Saturday when I have a better chance of flying the sim. Sorry I cannot get to it sooner, I guess I have to keep a low profile for now and not associate with a particular make and model of people so I don’t somehow make them cry or something to that affect. I cannot even promise this reply is going to last long. I woke up this morning to log in and some sort of a message that threatened I had 10 minutes to change a response I gave on another thread so I didn’t go back. I cannot guaranty this thread won’t even get highjacked by them, but if this does happen, I’m sorry about that and I will get in touch somehow when I can because I will not be able to respond here for sure with a possibility of interaction with them. Sounds paranoid, I know, but somehow it’s the truth and I guess I’ll have to accept it. Talk to you soon!
Okay, this is what I found out, which I never understood about FaceTrackNoIR and Opentrack. I have an old IR-Clip headset still somewhat useful and a really old webcam that still works for this Opentrack software. The IR LED’s were the original so they are much closer than the updated IR headsetswhich are setup IMO better for accuracy. Anyway, just want to tell you that each persons PC arrangement is differant so there will be some more tweaking on your end, but this is a start I think. Also, I used to use the Aruco tracker, but I think they may track about the same. So here is the setup that I am using at the moment, but needs some work still fine tuning to one’s own taste.
Edit: Well I just found out I cannot attach the INI file to this so I will try and send it to you some other way.
Okay, let me try this again attaching it as a text… Copy everything from the [migrations] line all the way down to the last line (which is empty). Then paste it as a text document, and then “Save As…” an ini file. And place it into the directory where your other profiles are. Hope that helps if you haven’t gotten one yet made, and sorry so late in getting this to you. Happy Flying!!
