the new version of OPENXr 106.2104.15001.0 has made a real leap with reprojection on, it is very fluid without tearing the image effect Whaoouu guaranteed !!
My settings are

Ruined it quite a lot for me. I’m still sticking with 475.30, didn’t try the latest driver, but the openxr update is an obvious downgrade in performance for me.
I7-9700k,
32gb ram,
rtx 2070
UPDATE: Excuse me, i just noticed in MS store my Oxr isn’t even updated to latest ver lol So scratch my initial statement. At least until i test it updated
Yep, new OpenXR enabled 22,5 FPS reprojection. It’s a huge upgrade over 30 FPS.
I’m still tuning things tho. Reprojection should lock sim FPS to 45, 30 or 22,5 FPS and nothing else. I’m getting unconstrained FPS with reprojection on which causes stutters. It must be a settings conflict as evidently you can get it to lock to the correct value as seen on above FlightSimGuys video.
Got Limited by Main Thread when MR is activated. FPS around 20 or less. Not very smooth and heavy artifacts (wobbling).
Even with lower graphic settings I cannot reach 22.5 FPS.
Very strange, CPU is one of the fastest around.
Without MR its kind of smooth at 30fps and GPU limit.
That’s great news indeed !
With the P-40 or the Spit (my favorite VR planes), to avoid stutters, I was at maximum at TAA 80% / OXR 80%, most settings at medium.
Now I can do TAA 100% / OXR 90% with a few settings pushed to high, still at 90 fps (Reverb G2, 3090FE).
Do you have HAGS turned on? That’s one thing I’ve noticed in the past, HAGS can seemingly interfere with reprojection and give wildly fluctuating frame rates with both over and undershooting of target… hit me hard in AMS2 and ACC, turned off HAGS and problem solved, locked at 45fps.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately this seem to be a tough nut to crack. FPS fluctuations seem to be on my computer setting agnostic. Even DDUing the drivers and reverting as much as possible to default settings didn’t help. I think I’ll just drop the gloves and call it there. Yes it stutters and gives wild frame time spikes and when I cap FPS to 25 it sticks to 25FPS but it is what it is.
Still the few moments when it’s fluid are worth it
