I didn’t reset again, will try the revert soon
People who experience this issue can you try to install this:
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
Unfortunately, did not help with my issue.
I have tested getting all the Windows updates on 2 machines (20H2 and 21H1), including a fresh Windows install, and I have nothing. I cannot reproduce this problem.
All I have is this message - but they haven’t really given all the details:
I’m also not seeing an outrage on this forum (which I know is leaning a lot towards WMR users), so I assume it’s broken for a handful of users, and I need those users to figure out what specific software they are running and that might interfere.
At this point, nothing I can do
Quick development update (4/1):
In addition to the highly anticipated Foveated Rendering with eye tracking, the next version of OpenXR Toolkit will include a brand new upscaling technique that @CptLucky8 and I think you will really like: AIESR (AI Extreme Super Resolution). It’s a technology that leverages hidden chipsets present in most commercial headsets. We are confident AIESR will help unlock true 90 FPS performance even on systems that are struggling today! We hope that it will enable everyone to finally enjoy the game the way it was intended to be played!
Stay put for more on this!
EDIT: Hopefully by now folks noticed that this is the dev update for APRIL 1ST
Calling Aprils fool on this…
… a very promising technique, also known here in France as Foveated Image Super Headroom.
April fools
“AIESR”
Gets excited
“April fools”
Checks date
U got me lol
good doge much april, very fools
That was my first thought, revert.
But I’m thinking leaving it as it is, and assist with any build you create that attempts to fix it.
From my side, I’m running the very same software and hardware as usual. The only difference was the windows and WMR updates.
Btw, doesn’t the Error message give u any idea about where to look for this issue?
Edit: did I mention I’m on Windows 11?
So Cruel if this is an April Fools prank! I want AI Extreme Super Resolution now… Where is it?
You may now be duty bound to pull 90FPS out of thin air!
Unfortunately no. It just means the OS is failing to load the DLL, but it doesn’t say why. To give you an idea, this error occurs before ANY of OpenXR Toolkit code is executed. So there’s nothing I can instrument or add to even try to understand…
I’ve had people try installing the VC redistributable (see few posts above) and check for missing DLL dependencies but no luck…
Have you tried installing this?
I had an issue with Shake Reduction on the Oculus 2. If I set a large value, around 40%, it causes flashing/scrambled video when looking down or to the sides.
Shake doesn’t appear to be an issues for Quest 2 headsets anyway, so I can keep it off.
Same issue here, just started looking into it.
Update - I installed the vc_redist.x64.exe. No Joy, I then uninstalled / resintalled the OpenXR binaries again and appear to be working. No more error. I see a security update was applied earlier this morning, fyi.
I have not installed this optional update yet: 2022-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5011543).
Update: Once I hopped back into MSFS and started VR - the error came back.
Oh boy… ‘we’re doomed’.
Thank you, I really appreciate your time.
Installed that file, restarted and same thing happens.
Also uninstalled the toolkit, the runtimes, reinstalled all, no joy.
Revert back to previous Windows before update, same issue.
I think it’s the new Mixed Reality Portal, somehow, but I’m just a mac user, that flies in Windows 11, unfortunately.
Please let me know what else I could do, log files or anything you can think of.
Cheers.
I’ll let you know if we find anything. It really really looks like a system DLL has gotten messed up or something, just not sure how we can know what happened.
I had a restore point from a day or so ago. I am running VR once again - current versions:
openXR toolkit - v1.0.1
Sounds FFISHy
