If you are in the US or other areas, it is a really good experience. It depends on the CDN that is local to you. If they haven’t increased capacity of the CDN in the areas of some users, I do believe they are having a bad experience.
Unfortunately, the CDN network is controlled by a Microsoft child company. I forgot the name. But they were also the ones responsible for the issues we had with extremely slow download times for a year. So yes, in the US things are good, but the UK and Australia are having hard times right now, I’m not sure of other areas.
Yeah, it does seem like UK simmers are having a much harder time with it. The simultaneous worldwide launch really was a disaster.
The past big sim updates were also a pain point where scenery streaming couldn’t keep up with the inrush of players for a few days. Then we got all the people immediately complaining that the update was worse than before and we should be allowed to skip updates. The devs really can’t win either way.
Streaming content is here to stay. How many people still have their music collection on a local drive? Everything is moving to the cloud whether we like it or not.
