Opt-in beta test still planned for the future. Jorg estimates maybe 5000 players would join an opt-in beta test

I would do this but my possibly my rtx3060 and certainly my 3800X are above their ideal hardware specs that I firmly believe they should stick to. Not doing so is probably why pre SU5 was pretty much unplayable for the majority of those with supported hardware.

Hi all.

Somebody know if during the beta they is our user name all over the screen like during the alpha test?

I fly only in VR

Thx for your answers

No its not

After all the messing around that Asobo did during the SU5 beta and then pretty much ignoring very obvious bugs that were reported before releasing something that no one had tested I won’t be joining the SU6 beta this time. Good luck to those that do.

Kev

SU5 gave a huge performance boost for those that were struggling beforehand but for sure they made major changes and bugs were always likely. Rather than being ignored as you say they were, in reality the major bugs were addressed in short order by two hotfixes. There was also the time pressure for the X-box release and I doubt a full beta program was possible.

And … as a dev your rig is probably too powerful for this beta anyway (see my previous post).

That’s the point, and the weird thing. You shouldn’t need to, and I never have had to. I just click install. But some people have not had this experience for some reason, and only one case I know of was somewhat explainable.

A tip for anyone who makes this mistake in future … start and pause the download straight away then edit UserCfg.opt with the correct path to where your C&O folders are located, save it and continue with the download. The included C&O downloads will be skipped.

Differences of opinion is what makes for changes and I hope you will reconsider.
Never ever give up.

No, the betas so far have been just like the normal game, no gamertags all over the screen.

You definitely should be included in betas, especially if some “3rd party devs” have been involved and they may just make an airport scenery. Hopefully you’ll get a response. Maybe private message Jayne or Seedy?

Can you not just sign up like everyone else? Using the process given above?

I agree that third party developers should have some direct contact, but if that’s not there, it should still be possible to sign up for the beta like a normal consumer.

I’ve been testing the sim since the alpha and every beta since, and I’m just a customer, nothing special. I sign up as per the instructions given and that’s it.

I signed many NDAs in my life but I would never ever sign an NDA that is not lifted at release time.

I have; they’re not that uncommon even in the hobby testing community - I’ve tested under NDA for Microsoft long ago, DirecTV and Apple, and all of them have standard NDAs. In some cases, you’re not even supposed to disclose which particular products you tested, though that is rare and generally disregarded so long as you don’t disclose the teething pains along the way.

And in the business/legal worlds, especially with regard to things like legal privilege, you are prohibited from disclosing effectively forever absent a court order. Par for the course.

So does that mean I’m in?

Pin this to the top!

Yes you’re in

Congratulations — Enjoy the wild ride …

Tried to join on the Xbox but it says it’s now full. :slightly_frowning_face:

Oh well. Hope everyone enjoys trying things out. I would ask for feedback from others but you have an NDA that you can’t talk about it.

So the rest of us will just wait patiently for the final release date and hope you all did your jobs. Lol

Morning all.

Somebody know at what time will the beta be available on October 6?

Thx
