Man, what good is it to just assume malice by default? They didn’t “get caught”. It doesn’t need a “complete remake”… It’s a glitch and will be fixed.

I agree, FerretWitASpork. As also noted on the Orbx site, to keep frame rate up, they purposely used low rez textures expecting people to view them from 1,000 AGL or so, not right next to them. Part of the reported fix is to have a set of higher rez ones.
That said, there is a need to adjust the night lighting for the added objects which they’re working on.

I disagree - some of the assets do need a makeover as they are worst than the P3D and X-Plane versions and not well integrated into MFS - just unacceptable quality from Orbx.
However 400 assets were created for the London area at a cost of 0.02c so lets have a sense of perspective here and they have already agreed to create higher definition assets so we’ll see what they come up with.
They probably have the bigger picture in mind as well doing these assets for all the TE series and cityscapes as well which is a huge amount of work.

But that’s the point. Orbx barely did any work.
- Most of it was a copy/paste job with extremely old low-res models.
- Heights, sizing & direction wrong on many.
- Bridges very poorly implemented
- Night lighting different to default & not even turning on/off at the same time as default.
- They couldn’t even point HMS Belfast the right way (then gave it hideous night lighting)
If you charge for that then you have to accept the criticism.

Come on guys it’s what 10 bucks and you get 400 buildings. Tower Bridge isn’t great and there are some mesh issues around the Thames but they will be providing free updates and the overall effect is still pretty good.
How are people so entitled so say it’s not worth it. I live in London and it’s absolutely worth it. Maybe you want to send a message to Orbx and that’s fine but looking on the forums they’ve got the message emphatically so if you still think it’s not value for money then you are the one missing out.
If nothing else, buy it and I have no doubt in a few days somebody will at least have found a way of replacing the original assets and keeping the Orbx Scenery, so that would be something right?

Beware of buying the Orbx London City Pack because it’s a low res rip-off. Although you get more non-autogen buildings, they are very poor quality. The stock hand crafted MSFS buildings are way more detailed, especially things like Tower Bridge.
Reaction Review shows the difference on YouTube and he’s not happy.

There will be an update soon. Got both which are still better than the default. Orbx has issue an official post about this. There’s also a side by side slider comparison.
I bought it from the in-game marketplace on launch day without realising how bad the ORBX edition currently is. Is it possible to get a refund for DLC bought on the in-game marketplace? If so, how do I get a refund? Thank you.
