Overspeed at 200 kits on Airbus 220?

Started a flight from Zurich…over the Alps to Rome. Nice looking scenery…
Had to take a call, so put the sim mode in full pause via escape key…
When I resumed, the airspeed indicator had the red overspeed marks starting at 200 knots…normally around 300odd??

No red lines at 200knts on the airspeed indicator in outside view…

Surely ridiculous to limit the A20 to 200knts…come to think of it, limiting it to 300 or so doesn’t seem right either…

Am I missing something over this??

Are you sure you’re not confusing Indicated Air Speed (IAS) with True Air Speed (TAS)?

@loveclose
The external generic ASI has nothing to do with the Airbus speedtape in the cockpit.

200kts is the limiting speed for conf 2. Confirm the flaps are retracted?
It’s not uncommon that various configuration changes can occur after unpausing the sim.

Btw, if you use the ESC pause, suggest to go to the load/save menu and open the load menu.
AFAIK that’s the only way MSFS idles instead of operating at full speed even when paused.

Do you know, I’ve just found that very thing!
Went around the cockpit, and just happened to check the flaps…

Used the flaps at stage 1 after takeoff and definitely retracted them.

Resetting the flaps removed the red speed warnings from the 200 knots point on the dial…

Thank you for confirming both the pause bug and the flap issue…

It’s official…
Had to pause again as Mrs Loveclose served up the most amazing beef and mushroom stew…

On returning to the cockpit…

Un-paused…

Flaps at stage 2 with the 200knts speed restriction…

It’s a bug…

AFAIK that happens if the assignments aren’t 100% correct, e.g. multiple assignments etc.
Suggest to recheck all of them, even the unassigned ones (flight controls section should be sufficient in your case)

I have been having issues when I Land at an airport with the A320nx with reverse thrust activated and the spoilers are deployed.

Used active pause…

But then after disabling active pause, my plane goes backwards?!?!?!?! What on earth?!

I think this is a bug!

Don’t understand. If you paused the sim while thrust reverse is selected, it will still be selected when unpausing the sim. Advancing the throttles will make the A320 taxi backwards.

I don’t know if it’s related by e.g. on my X-56 if I press Escape and go back into the game the throttles are at full power in all planes. I have to slightly move the joystick handles for the game to reread them. So ■■■■ annoying.

Check your hardware bindings. Flaps moving after ESC suggest there’s another buttons or axis being bound to the command that you don’t use.

What hardware do you use? When I had that issue, I was using the base Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant without the Addon. But the default binding for that hardware is set to have the spoilers and flaps binding with the spoilers and flaps addon attached. So if you don’t have it attached, the sim is getting phantom inputs from a nonexistant hardware, moving the spoilers and flaps around.

So I look at the control bindings and remove the spoilers and flaps from being bound to those axis, and that solved my problem. Until I got myself the addons and I attach them, then I rebind them again.

So check with all your controls, if you find the spoilers or flaps axis being bound to a axis or button that you don’t use, remove them.

what you are missing is a mistake in your title a220

Are you referring to the lack of a capital A, or the fact that my phone auto corrected Knots to Kits??:grin:

No I wasn’t sure if you were flying an A220, haven’t seen one for fs2020 yet
