PA-28R Arrow III from Just Flight

Or NPS, CFD or the new static friction model. It has none of those as far as I remember. A lot of development has occurred since they were first released, and it would be good to see these planes take advantage of them.

Yes, the data extracted from JustFlight manual and from the POH are both relevant for MTOW.
I do believe that the performance is a touch higher than what it should be but this is not going to stop me enjoying flying this great aircraft

No plans in the foreseeable future according to messages in the just flight forum. They would have to rewrite the whole thing from ground up. And they are complaining (rightfully so) about the lack of documentation and that the CFD flight model is still changing too much every couple of months. They tuned their flight model as best as they could given the limitations of the sim, CFD wouldn’t make it better in their opinion. (C.f. 3rd post in the linked thread)

Bummer to hear that but also somewhat understandable. Hope they change their mind at some point if CFD eventually becomes more stable.

When it stabilizes and it becomes viable, I’m sure they will as it could take some of the programming off their hands.

Anyone else notice a regression in this release with the PUMP ON and PUMP OFF assignments? According to previous patch notes, these assignments should turn the fuel pump to LO. However, it’s actually setting it to HI in this version, which is less useful.

i have owned the tarrows for a really long time. the binding has always turned on the hi pump for me. when i pinged jf support about it they said they would be making a change to the code in a future patch so that it turned on lo pump but i don’t think that’s ever hit (at least i’ve never noticed it working that way). i was hoping it would be fixed in this latest round of updates but it’s still triggering hi pump for me as well.

Whats the latest news regarding the release of the updated Flighsim Pipers on Marketplace?

Sometimes I find the JF Pipers very difficult to taxi. I need A LOT of power to move it again after stopping, and to pivot around a wheel is virtually impossible. It looks like the nosewheel has a very limited turning range in comparison with other aircraft.

According to the change log on their forums they added support for the binding in v0.5.0 and then changed it to set the pump to LO in 0.5.4 but it’s never actually worked. Drives me nuts but good to know it’s not just me.

Only other bug I’ve encountered is that the altimeter and standby altimeter do not agree. If you set the altimeter with the b key then they will actually show two different altimeter settings.

Hello all
I’m having a strange issue as of recent when flying the PA28 III (or IV that is). The issue is that the plane seems not to be able to deliver the normal power output. When I fly it on like 1000 ft clear skies going straight it barely makes 118 kts. I think it should make around 140 at least.

This also happens when I let MSFS 2020 do the start up by starting the flight on the runway.

What’s also strange is that the engine has a tendency to sputter/die easier than what I remember. I need to accell to around 30% to make sure it does not die on me.

Finally I seem to hear a strange fine crackling noise as if something is not OK with the sound of the plane. I do not have such issues with other planes

I reinstalled and have no state saving. The strange thing is that my oil temperature is at 0… as well as my EGT. Rest seems fine.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong? I may also say that I fly that plane every now and then and so far never had this kind of issue…

Flying right now the fully updated Arrow III.

25 MP, 2400 RPM, 1200 ft, clear skies, three people on board (77 kg each) and 70% fuel. 137 KIAS and a ground speed of 136-139 kt.

Sounds like a binding issue. Have you checked that you don’t have an extra binding set somewhere? Are you using SPAD or any third party control binding or display software?

Unfortunately we encountered an issue which prevented their release on the Marketplace last week but they should be released this week (usually Thursday evening).

Still no sign of them on the Marketplace, a full four weeks after they were made available to people who bought it outside. Disappointing; I guess the message is never buy anything on the Marketplace.

@Nortmar said that a problem was found with the Marketplace release, introduced by the Marketplace release process, so, release was delayed, again, by at least another week.

@NORTMAR really hope we finally see these this week on the Xbox marketplace

I’m happy to buy airport scenery from there. But I tend to avoid buying aircraft from there if it is available elsewhere for two reasons: update availability, and modding.

Also airports are crypted and for that reason some addons may not work. Take GSX as an example.
