PA-28R Arrow III from Just Flight

Searched hard for any conflicts - none found.

Solved the Mixture Control problem.

It is simply that the click-spot for the miixture ‘gate’ that prevents reduction below 40% is NOT the switch modelled under the mixture lever, but is the ‘hidden’ shiny grey/siver strip marked in the attached photo.

Arrow III Mixture Gate

Click (precisely) on this and it unlocks the gate - click on it again and it resets the gate. Note that the click spot appears continuous with that for the mixture lever itself, but it actually is not.

Are you solely moving that lever using the mouse in the virtual cockpit, or using a physical quadrant? I can’t say I’ve ever noticed this with external controls, which may override that lock, or ignore it even exists.

hello, in the cokpit of the Turbo Arrow 3
I don’t see the aircraft registration on the instrument panel.
No matter which livery you choose among those supplied with the plane.
Do you know how to display this registration?

IRL question… do you use 1 notch of flaps for takeoff under normal conditions? I was encouraged to do so by my Arrow’s previous owner but the manual says normal takeoffs are done with flaps retracted. :man_shrugging:

Side note, coming from various 172’s with different forms of (usually buggy / temperamental) electric flaps, I LOVE the Johnson Bar in my Arrow. No confusing that with the gear switch, wondering “are they up yet?” OR playing the “one Mississippi, two Mississippi” guessing game. Hit the runway “FLAPS TO THE FLOOR!” and she grips the surface nicely.

The Arrows I did my commercial in called for flaps up for normal takeoff, flaps 25 for short/soft field takeoffs.

I’m not seeing that issue:

This one has the custom reg:

Perhaps you have a conflict with something else that is installed?

To add, what does the POH call for?

This is a problem I have seen in several aircraft from different parties. I found that it depends on particular repaints that somehow prevent also the other aircraft to dislay the registration number. Remove all repaints for the Arrow and start adding them again to figure out which one is causing the problem. It ccould be related to the font being used.

Flaps up for takeoff unless it’s short field. And yeah - johnson bar is great - want flaps? Give it a yank. Land and want to aerobrake like crazy and stop without touching the brakes? Press button, drop bar to ground.

I have the same issue with one of my C172 repaints, so it could be a livery issue…

After I replied that I wasn’t seeing this, I flew the Arrow IV on my desktop and see this:

My previous test was on my laptop that had no other mods installed.

Clearly, there is a mod conflict here.

(Oh, and these Just Flight Pipers continue to be really great!)

EDIT:

Okay, I don’t get it. I pulled all liveries out of my Community folder and it fixed the issue. Then, I added the liveries back in small batches expecting to find the one(s) that caused the issue. I ended up with all of them back in and the issue hasn’t returned.

POH calls for flaps up, which I’ve begun to do.
I did go through a “maybe this dude knows something about this particular plane” phase, and use one notch for a while. :joy:

While I know free updates don’t, necessarily, ring in more sales, I hope that JF have some planned for these excellent aircraft.

I’m flying the Arrow around Maui, HI right now. These are still my favorite GA aircraft out of all that I own.

I’m right there with ya. I do favor the A2A Comanche but dang do I still enjoy flying the Arrow 3’s around. Having owned them since Xbox release, I’ve got a couple hundred hours of really enjoyable flying.

I’ve still yet to take the 4 out, maybe I’ll do that tonight.

Haven’t flown the turbo for a while, as I fly the Comanche most of the time now, but I sure miss that turbo grunt on hot climbs!

Same here. I buy new stuff, try them for a bit but always come back to the JF Arrows.

As much as I can appreciate all the acclaim for the A2A Comanche, I’ve held out because I just don’t like the cockpit.

I understand the preference for cockpits, but you REALLY should try the Comanche! It’s a whole other level of simulated flight, in all respects, from airframe ownership, maintenance, flight model and inflight management.

I wasn’t too keen on the cockpit either but you soon forget about this when you are caught up with the immersion of the Comanche. Plus you can update interiors from flightsim.to

But I do miss the turbo on the arrow. This will definitely make me come back to it at some point.

It’s nice to have both.

I know, I know. I really want all that, but in the Arrow. If JF did that, I would buy it again without hesitation. Similarly, if A2A had released the Arrow, no hesitation.
