Maybe, it’s just that I’ve found that the cockpit is such a huge factor in how much time i spend in something. I love the look and layout of the Arrow and I love the nav capabilities with ADF, the options of the twin stack radios, GNS, GTN. It honestly feels like this is my aircraft in the sim and I rent or borrow everything else (except the flying for my day job which involves protecting the skies over unpronounceable places in Wales in the Hawk or delivering a certain payload over London in the Vulcan…apologies to those who complain about London looking bombed out!).
If the Comanche was cheaper, I probably would have given it a go. That’s not to say it’s too expensive for what it is, just a bit too expensive for something I’m not completely sure about. BTW, I did see you get convinced in the A2A thread, perhaps you’ll end up doing the same to me!
Anyway, not to hijack this thread further, so back on topic…the ground handling is still off at rotation speed in a very mild crosswind even with turbulence set to low.
I wasnt just on the fence with the Comanche, I wanted it like 15%.
And that 15% was only because Barracus was flying around in it laughing and all smug (and I hate it when he’s smug)
I’m more in to my twins and faster aircraft so it was a massive conversion for me and it’s mainly what I’ve been flying since getting it.
For the type of aircraft you are interested in this is more up your street than mine and Ive been massively converted so……
But as you say this is the Arrow thread and it’s important not to forget how ground breaking that plane was when it first came out (and still is), literally the best GA on the market for a year or so and Just Flight are such a fantastic developers too.
They are definitely different enough to justify owning both. If I’m going over the alps then I’m taking the arrow every time….
Thank you, I like to think the continued supply of Airbus wings from Wales to Europe is due in some small part to my vigilance. You will note that there have been no air based assaults on the factory.
Hi all. I think we’ve released approx 20 updates for the Arrow III since it was released in 2021 and we’ll continue to update and upgrade it, along with our other MSFS aircraft. We can’t commit to specific timescales or features at this point but like with our airliners, we’d like to bring features from our new aircraft such as the PA38 to the PA28s.
Hopefully the 146 v2 update demonstrates that we are happy to work on extensive free upgrades when suitable.
The PMS GTN750 is supported and is one of the options in the EFB - I haven’t flown the Arrow in a while but I did do a ‘Round the World in 80 Days’ and of course used the GTN750 a lot
I don´t think the Arrow needs any big overhaul, but at least it would be benefit a lot from using the new ground physics. Crosswind takeoffs and landings still feel quite strange with the ground steering.
At this point, I’m pretty sure most developers, if they aren’t already working on an update, are going to be waiting for the 2024 SDK before they do any further surgery to their airplanes.
Not much point with only a month or two to go till there’s some idea about what’s next and how they’ll be able to bring their products into the next version. At the same time 2020 will likely have reached it’s zenith and they won’t have to worry much about further massive changes to it.
Yes, realistically, factoring in our RJ release, F28 v2 upgrade and Hawk T1 update, we’ll be looking at later this year before the next round of PA28 updates/upgrades. We are also hoping the MSFS 2024 SDK gives us the long awaited improvements to the flight model system to address the remaining areas on the PA28s.
Glad to hear about the RJ - been looking forward to it since announced.
Now for my little wish list: On the Arrows, any chance we could ever see you drop that GPS 100 (which doesn’t really function) in favor of the Bendix King KLN 90b that is available on github? It would be a much better solution and has most real-world functionality built-in. THx!
