Painted hatched areas

Does anyone know which texture file the hatched areas pulls from? The red is way too vibrant and i want to modify it for an airport we are working on. The question may also serve as a request if Asobo reads through heee to allow us to change the materials om the painted hatch areas

Hatched areas use painted line as far as I can tell so I assume you are looking for the material you specified?

I havent specified a material just yet since i don’t know where the red lines are pulled from (either it’s own seaparate file, or it’s specific spot in the ground marks file from asobo). There is a great tutorial on youtube that has helped me tremendously with other types of lines, and i have been able to manipulate them extensively but since hatched lines do not allow your custom material, I am assuming i’ll have to modify the actual sim file. I honestly don’t want to mess with default files since it would require ( i believe) the users of my airports to do the same in order to achieve equal results.

Those are the line types specified for a painted line. You certainly don’t change base sim files. You specify the color or whatever of the line based on that enumeration which should appear in the object properties for the painted hatched polygon. Some of them might look a bit odd of course.

thank you for taking the time to help, sorry I didn’t mention that earlier. if I understood you correctly, I have already played with the painted lines quite a bit and their position within the texture file. Here is an example:

in the picture, I used the texture position of the “edge_service_solid” and painted it red. In the sim, I call a painted line, change the material to my texture file, and then change the type to edge service solid. I can use the same line position and make it dashed, and use one line “type” with a different texture or material. ( i am sure you know all this since you are a legend, but I want to make sure io can explain what i am trying to do without confusing everyone, and I am new at this).

Now, the problem with this method is that painted hatched areas do not allow you to change the material, therefore I can’t select my texture files. I just wanted to know if there was any way to insert a texture file somewhere and force it to read that one for the hatched area.

Just noticed, that there are now “painted hatches” after sdk updates - but sadly there is no slim white line - also not for painted lines, but as mentioned above the lines-texture can be changed. Would be nice, to change the used texture for the painted hatches too - or to be able to add more entries (eg. with a custom library)?
