Welcome to the 237th flight in Gunpilot’s new SHORTER series of Challenging flights, The longest running event series in MSFS2020/24 multiplayer flights.
Flight Details:
On a day so clear it looks like Japan has buffed the sky with industrial‑strength club polish, the most spectacularly unhinged Cessna Grand Caravan pilots ever to shank a landing will launch into Par Avion Japan, the only golfing safari where the fairways hide behind trees and the greens file restraining orders. AIRSHO will be lining up his approaches like a man trying to chip out of a bunker using a spatula, B4RT will be slicing across the countryside with the aerodynamic consistency of a golf ball hit by a weed‑whacker, and RESET — the hack golfer of hack golfers — will be landing with the same confidence he brings to a tee box after losing 19 balls on the practice range. With 11 golf courses on the itinerary, the scoring system is pure golf‑nerd carnage: shortest landing on the nominated fairway = birdie, any fairway arrival = par, and any overshoot, crash, bounce, ricochet, worm‑burner, chili‑dip, fat shot, thin shot, hosel‑rocket, or “interpretive landing ballet” = bogey. Expect radio calls like, “AIRSHO’s on final… he’s lining up a high‑loft flop‑approach… AND HE’S ON THE GREEN IN ONE!” followed immediately by RESET yelling “FORE!!!” as he hooks his Caravan into the rough, the trees, the clubhouse, a sand trap, and possibly a nearby prefecture.
But the bonus challenges? Gary… these are the aviation equivalent of trick shots performed by caffeinated golf pros on a trampoline during an earthquake. These lunatics will be attempting touch‑and‑goes (the aviation version of a tap‑in putt, except with more screaming), bridge fly‑unders (including one flown inverted, because apparently they’ve all decided the laws of physics are “suggestions”), dam‑wall landings (the ultimate up‑and‑down), and even a full loop onto the destination runway, which is basically the airborne equivalent of holing out from 300 metres while blindfolded, juggling flaming wedges, and riding a unicycle through a bunker full of angry geese. AIRSHO will be bragging about his “perfect draw” approach, RESET will be inventing new golf terms like “catastrophic triple‑reverse‑mega‑hack‑bogey with bonus spin, emotional trauma, and a two‑stroke penalty for existing,” and B4RT will be ricocheting across the countryside like a golf ball that’s had enough of everyone’s nonsense. By the end, bragging rights will be so massive they’ll need their own restricted airspace, the clubhouse banter will be rowdier than a 19th hole after someone sinks a miracle putt with a frying pan, and Par Avion Japan will go down in history as the only event where you can hook, slice, duff, chunk, skull, top, shank, stall, chip, loop, belly‑flop, ricochet, and accidentally invent new manoeuvres on your way to golfing immortality.
