Paris Orly POY VOR/DME missing VOR feature

Hi,

The POY VOR/DME located in Paris Orly airport should be a VOR / DME but provides only DME feature.
VOR feature is not working.

Thanks,

Checked with Cessna 172 (steam gauges).
Checked using NAV mode (not GPS).

Checked …

In MSFS it is DEFINED only to be a DME, and has the “Square Box with a Dot in it” symbol, which is just a DME (no VOR)

However, Skyvector has it listed as a VOR/DME ( with correct VOR/DME symbol)

So looks as if one of the few Incorrectly assigned VORs by ASOBO , is just up the road from them in Paris !! :rage:

Yep, right.
POY is not a VOR, only a DME.
In a few web pages, POY is referenced as a NDB / DME (NDB freq is 334 and DME freq is 112.15).

Not a bug… except it is indicatged as VOR/DME on the ASOBO map :

I think I have the right one here. Navigraph has this as a DME, nor a VOR DME.

Here is the nearby CLM, an actual VOR/DME.

and Skyvector has it WRONG as a VOR/DME, and ASOBO got it right …

Clock one up for ASOBO

So the map view in MSFS is wrong, but in the sim it’s correct, functionality wise?

By that I mean it works as a DME, but clicking on it in the map shows it incorrectly as a VOR/DME.

I think its just the MAP that is wrong, as it does not distinguish between a VOR/DME and a DME.

The GNS530 does, and display the correct symbols.

As far as I am concerned, the more WRONG with the “World map”, the better .
It really needs to be designed better from the bottom up … so much is just so wrong, and a major regression on the equivalent FSX Map & flight planner :frowning:

Right … the symbols for VORDME and DME only VHF navaids are the same on the worldmap and the text is also not correct - you can´t identify if this navaid is a VOR navaid, a VORDME navaid or a DME only navaid - also, I have looked into the AIP France and the POY is really a DME only VHF navaid.

This VHF navaid is at least defined as DME only navaid in our database … so it´s correct so far.
Cheers,

Hi Richard

So its your company that supplies the nav data to Asobo ?

If so, can you maybe get them to sort out the ILS / LDA issues.

They have every ILS & LDA locked to runway heading, instead of what their headings should be from your NavData Database. !!!

Hi,
no, we are not the supplier. We (Navigraph) use Jeppesen as our data provider. ASOBO use NavBlue and convert their stock data by their own.

To your request:
We offer the correct ILS courses straight and offset (LDA) in our dataset. The issue here is, that the sim logic overrule these data and this logic can only be fixed by ASOBO. But as soon as this is fixed, you can expect perfect approaches.

Sorry, that we can’t help here more. The ILS courses are still set correctly in the AIRAC files.

Richard
