This is a response of mine I copied pasted from the “visual degradation on Xbox is unacceptable” thread. I didn’t want to type everything all over again so I hope the devs will investigate the absolutely terrible and unacceptable photogrammetry LOD and overall quality in Paris particulary around the Eiffel Tower vicinity:
I did an experiment actually. Took off from La Bourge in a Supra Light and stuff in the AI gen areas looked generally fine apart from the odd blurry ground textures around the AI gen buildings now and then.
When I finally got to the Eiffel Tower and surround areas there were bits and chunks of photogrammetry loading right in front of me. When you pan the camera it looks especially bad. Photogrammetry loads in chunks and again deloads as you move the camera to the front of the aircraft. It just looks dreadful but it is passable.
Then I got to the Daher TBM 90 and took off from Charles De Galle. Things looked okay. Not too much pop in or blurry textures. But when I passed over La Bourge, the words “La Bourge” on the runway looked smeared like a water painting. There were blurry textures around the AI gen buildings too but when I got to the Eiffel Tower area oh my God… It was horrendous! There were crayons, pots, and nukes buildings all around me and I had to fly close to a thousand feet or less to see any kind of reasonable detail on the photogrammetry.
The photogrammetry objects such as the Eiffel Tower, and all the famous government/parliamentary buildings look like flat cardboard cutouts until you’re almost right on top of them.
This is an unacceptable standard! Paris needs a mega photogrammetry update like London and the rest of the UK did. Paris has to be among the worst looking cities in the sim right now no matter what time of day it is.
Is it possible to tag someone from the dev team here? It’s ruining my experience! The other locations I can tolerate such as NYC and Vegas but man, Paris is borderline BAD.
Paris is now looking exactly like how the “old” London did.
