It keeps popping up on my screen to “disengage parking brake by pressing ctrl and num delete.
When I do this I can see the view moves just a little bit as though it is excepting the command but even with full throttle of the plane does not move.
Any ideas?
Which airplane?
Perhaps try pressing some of the Ctrl-1, Ctrl-2, etc. camera views until you can see the parking brake lever, and activate it with the mouse cursor ?
You should see a change in the angle of the rudder pedals too.
It might be the same problem that I’ve been having with the controls where the num del on keyboard is only registering as normal delete so it won’t do anything. I have the same problem with all the controls regarding anything on the numberpad.

I found on my system that it mattered -which- CTRL key I used. I think it needs to be the one at the bottom-left of your keyboard, (next to the Z if you’re on the US/UK keyboard layout.
I had the same issue too but found the problem. I was trying to release the park brake on the Zlin Shock aircraft using the keyboard Ctrl + Num Del but without success. The problem was that the sim had (by default) duplicated this park brake toggle control binding with a button on my Saitek throttle as well as the keyboard keystrokes. Go to Controls and ALL of your controllers bindings for Brakes and get rid of one of them.
I haver tried to use MS$ Sidewinder Pro. Found a dodgy driver which collided with my virus software!
So after many hours trying to map all functions I ordered another joystick. For the time being I tried the keyboard commands to get the plane from the ground. I could not get the park brakes toggled on and off. FS let you in the dark about the state of the brakes, but if you throttle up I found out that Ctrl NumDel does not work at all when I I no not NumLock the numberPad. I can see the keys are coming in in the Control mapping screen. When I go flying there is no toggling of park brakes. So with this the whole game is useless if you try to start flying from the ground! I think a refund is coming to my mind soon! All is very unlogical wht happens. Anyone who can explain what is going wrong? I have to throw my airplane in the air to start flying. I also remapped the toggle brake to anothe key combination, but nothing changes, I can see this key combination is active in mapping mode, not while going into the air.
Have you tried to remap it???
I remapped it to Ctrl-b with the same result! You can test it during remapping, noeffect when flying.
Just wonder if you resolved this problem. Nothing I seem to do makes plane to move (Cesna 152} , even disengaging the brake by pointing to it with the mouse. The lever pops out but no amount of throttle will budge the plane.
I just had a thought. I just packed up my Saitek Pro Flight so I can’t try it out…
I don’t think that my NUM LOCK is on by default. Perhaps that will make a difference? Or is that just too obvious and dumb?
Same here, ■■■ is happening to fs2020, I won’t be doing anymore updates
I need to manually hit the release button for like 30-40 times, until it releases the break no matter on which device. (keyboard/gamepad/whatnot).
I swear to god, I didnt even encountered so many bugs in Cyberpunk like in this bugfest here.
80 bucks for a pre alpha game.

same problem keyboard does not respond or save the comand worst flightsim almost year not one good flight
Same here in July 2024. Trying to get the Kingair to roll after pushback is impossible. I dont see why it’s so difficult in 2024 to figure out how to pushback an aircraft and get parking brakes to work correctly. I use standard Logitek Proflight rudder pedals and I have had nothing but problems with the brakes, both regular and parking since I bought this sim.
I just tried a flight, I hit the pushback button, the tugman rolled over hooked me up and pushed me back. I sent him away and he disconnected but didnt move. I tried to recycle him, and he started but then a 2nd man with a tug appeared so I had the both of them trying to push me back. I cancelled it, and they both stood down and went away. I then tried to roll forward, and was stuck to the pavement. Had to cancel the VA flight.
I dont see what is so hard about making this work right when any other game would be able to solve this. Doesnt seem like pushing back and using parking brakes would be such a problem for not only me, but many others.
And no I dont have multiple keybindings for parking brakes. I’ve been through all that.
I have the same problem and it affects all planes in my case. Paid PMDG 737 and 777 and default Cessna, TBM and ATR
