Partenavia P68B Victor - Anyone else having issues?

Anyone else having issues with the Nemeth Partenavia P68B Victor? Emailed support but haven’t heard back (which I gather from other threads seems normal for them). I picked it up through the in game marketplace because it’s one of the few career compatible planes, but so far it’s not much fun. What is the point of restricting career planes to the marketplace and encrypting the ■■■■ out of them so we can’t fix them ourselves if they aren’t going to at least vette their basic functionality? But I’m willing to entertain the possibility it’s just my install/system, so here we are.

Here’s what I’m seeing:

Auto Startup sequence does not work. Engine 1 starts and turns over, then quits and it hangs. I believe it had something to do with either the fuel pumps or alternator switches.

Fuel selectors virtually impossible to choose anything besides the first and last options (both/cutoff).

Fuel selector position doesn’t seem to have any effect on fuel consumption.

Only right tank drains regardless of settings (or possibly left tank drains very slowly).

With left tank set to “both” and right tank set to “cutoff,” the right engine loses some power, but does not stop. (Actually, that might be accurate if the fuel pump needs to be engaged, but I’m not sure).

AP HDG switch does not function at all. Visually does not change position/will not engage.

AP Bank and Pitch both seem to jerk instantly between 0% and 10-20% control inputs, which is too much, so it just jitters up/down left/right and is unusable.

Prop pitch changes result in unnaturally sudden rpm changes, not sure if it’s actually too extreme or if it’s just the impression given by the sound pack.

No thumbnail picture in Career mode

Weirdly getting some “aircraft not compatible with runway” errors when trying to use it for freelance missions in Career, but that may be an MSFS24 bug. Either that or the Flight Performance numbers think the P68B needs a way longer runway than it actually does.

EDIT: I was not aware the forum automatically censors the word “■■■■,” and I find that hilarious because it makes it look worse than it is.

The Autocontrol Heading did not work for me too. Which is strange because pre SU3 I could have sworn it worked. Binding Autopilot Heading swich to any key does not work either. You can however use autocontrol roll hold and then use the autocontrol roll adjust to force the plane in a given direction. Not very convenient.
Additionaly sometimes autocontrol pitch adjustment is not working until you disengage Autocontrol completly and switch it on again.
I was able to start from the runway in career mode without any errors. But that was with the plane in my own company. Flying longer distances without the autocontrol feature is a pain so in the current state I consider the plane broken. Unfortunately like most Nemeth Design Products.

version 2.03 seems to have arrives with some of the fixes for the stuff you mention.

I can confirm that with version 2.03 the autocontroll indeed does work. To hold a heading you have to activate the autopilot via the switch on top of the Yoke (which still has no visible click spot), switch Heading hold on the autopilot control on (works only AFTER you put on the Autocontol switch) and then it hold the Heading shown by the “bug” in the compass. Sadly sometimes this bugs vanishes when one switches to VR - switching back and forth solved it eventualy for me.
Altimeter Hold is functioning somewhat too. Sometimes the switch goes visualy back to off after a 30 seconds. It says “off” for ALT Hold in the tooltip but the plane holds the altitude none the less. Changing altitude on the other hand was and hole different adventure. I would advise to try this only if you have a save recovery altitude reached. It looks like you have to switch ALT HOLD off befor you use PITCH HOLD. After doing so you can adjust the Pitch with the little trim wheel adjacent to it. In my trys the switches for ALT HOLD and PITCH HOLD were switching around multiple times and on occasion the pitch change was VERY radical. So the plane goes from normal flight to something like a handstand in a blink and back. The safest way would be to change the altitude in manual flight and only use ALT HOLD.

But anyway I could complete some career mode missions that way and with a good rating too. SIM Rate three times up was not a problem. 4x brings my system to glitch around and loose a lot of frames so can not recommend going to high.

Yup just tried a flight with the update - much improved! Autopilot works for me. Fuel flow works. Only complaint with that is that any changes to the pitch dial result in it snapping the controls - like the PID doesn’t account for it. I still think there’s something wonky in the prop/prop lever modeling - you can’t get a constant taxi speed, always either speeding up or slowing down, and it’s hard to slow down in the air. But to be fair I’m not a pilot and it seems to be an issue with a lot of planes so I don’t know. Could be my expectation is wrong, or could be a base level physics modeling problem. But it’s definitely usable in Career now, pleasant to fly. I don’t remember if the engine sounds were listed in the release notes as improved, but they certainly seem throatier and less whiny to me now.
