Asobo had said that they are reworking the effects system. You don’t have smoke, contrails, etc at the moment but it will be added in the future.
Imagine how this will add to realism and immersion when you can see chimney smoke rise up from buildings and powerplants and you can defer wind direction from it, touchdown produces tire smokes and of course contrails behind the plane and water condensation over the airfoils in general .
I just hope that whatever effects they implement are not as overdone as the heat effects from the engine and icing effects when you happen to fly through a cloud that just happens to be above 10,000 or 11,000 feet… Sadly, I fear they will be though, and then we will be waiting months for patches to fix them, just like we are going through right now for night lighting.
I’d like to have a good looking female flight attendent who serves me hot coffee, cold water and delicious meals.
But seriously: contrails would be nice to have but not strictly nessecary for as long as you’re in the cockpit.
Speaking of smoke and contrails, they should also introduce Fuel Dump contrails.
I seen on the 747-8 the fuel dump nozzle near the end of the wings, but when activating the Jetterson Fuel Dump switches, wouldn’t it be nice to actually see the fuel escaping from the wings!
I am not sure if this issue as already been stated, but ever since Microsoft Flight Simulator was released, I hadn’t noticed any contrails trailing behind aircraft at higher altitudes. At the time of the release, I thought since it was the summer season, I thought maybe it might have been due to the warmer temperatures during the summer. Fast forwarding a couple months… It’s been a few months in the winter season and there are still no signs no any contrails trailing behind aircraft at high altitudes.
Another cool thing to see would be some sort of aerobatic smoke trail on all the aerobatic aircraft, because what’s aerobatics without a smoke trail? (Community Airshows in the future?)
A wish is OK, of course.
But demanding items in a harsh manner leads nowhere.
That was what Norman999933 expressed and I agree with him.
I would personaly like to see wake turbulence implemented. ie If you start your GA take-off roll just behind an airliner that you’re blown off the runway.
It’s only a wish ( don’t mix up with a death whish ) and I have patience.
That’s not wake turbulence. That’s jet blast. There’s lots of resources to explain wake turbulence and the dangers involved. It would be nice if both were implemented.
Now that I think about this… We also need atmospheric condensation, be it a 777 departing in a rainy day or a fighter jet breaking the speed of sound at low altitude!
I would love to see contrails when AI and other jet planes fly on high altitude. It would also improve the visibility of the other planes in visual flight.
