Many thanks. Wasn’t aware of this app so checking it out now.
Whilst I haven’t got this addon yet I am noticing that the devs seem to be very active in doing updates and seem to be trying to make this a good passenger app.
If anyone is currently using this in FS20 I would be interested in their thoughts as to whether this is now better than PACX and Self Loading Cargo and if it is getting nearer to FSPassengers which we had for FSX.
Hi, I have to reply to myself and the developers. I have flown about 60 flights now with passenger2 and I’m on the beta (so I have been able to post some of my points to the developers). I have to admit it is looking great now with still having it quirks but I can say it is a becoming a worthy replacement for the fspassengers we had in fsx. I have uninstalled pacx.
In all of my flights I didn’t get any issues anymore with not registering. So that is great. The sounds are being updated constantly and sound quite good( some translations are a bit weird but that is a AI/text to speech thing I guess), the interface and menus are getting better to work with and looking better, the new features like maintenance are really nice and the best part is that the application is being updated quite a lot.
So yes I have to say I was wrong in thinking it took another 6 months to have this product in decent shape, because it is now in a good shape and it is getting better. So I have to say it is now a must buy if you loved fspassengers.
The only small thing that is still missing is the option of a shortcut (similar to for example pacx, pilot2atc or fshud) to get the application to the front. I got feedback from the developer that you can use powertools to keep the interface in front, but I think this should be done within the software and not something you have to fiddle with yourself.
Self loading cargo ■■■■■■ on they own shoes when that new version came out. It had so much to do that I lost intrest for it. I really miss PassengerX.
Glad I bought this app.
The devs seem very enthusiastic and are very active on discord not to mention very amenable to suggestions and improvements.
There is a well planned and transparent list of updates too with expected completion dates.
In my opinion it is already way better than PACX which I previously bought and haven’t now used for months.
Just a heads up for anyone on the beta version of this app.
There is a new update with lots of interesting new improvements.
Question to users of Passenger2 - the clips I’ve seen have the cabin crew saying who they are. Is it possible to set the names or nationalities so I can have Helga and Kurt on Lufthansa for example, and Shane and Deano on Qantas, etc?
No, not at the moment.
You could however suggest the devs make this an option on their discord. They do listen to suggestions and reply fairly quickly.
Sorry to revive this relatively old thread. I’ve been using A Pilot’s Life v2 since it was released, and this add-on is the main reason why I keep on flying, as it offers a purpose through its game mechanics (progression through ranks, experience, score, finances…) While I still enjoy APL, it has become a bit repetitive and I’m looking for a different type of experience. Passenger2 seems to provide one mode that APL does not have: build your own airline. I’ve been looking for more information on this specific aspect of the app (game manual, YouTube), but could not find much.
- Can anyone provide their thoughts on the “create your airline” feature? (execution, progress system, …)
- Is there any integration between Passenger2 and GSX?
- Does Passenger2 come with any trial period?
Hi I use a pilots life with passengers 2 works well together. However the amount of passenger you have on simbrief will not be the dame as on passengers 2, as you sell your tickets at certain price, so amount of passengers depends on the price you set.
I work for easyjet on a pilots life get my generated flightplans. Then use passenger 2 downloaded the safety instructions for the airline I use.
Start my flight then then obviously offer catering services/ duty free on my flight. When I land I file my report to A pilots life and same for Passenger 2 to see what profit I have made or loss.
It does not have a trial period as far as I know.
Woah, this post is old. Passenger2 has come a long way since these first posts. I’ll give you a quick up-to-date review. I have PACX and SLC, and honestly, neither lives up to what Passenger2 is doing.
You can indeed build an airline with Passenger2. The interface is easy to understand. However, you will want to refer to the manual before using it as there are no tooltips. I have found that you can have four separate airlines at a time. You will need to get yourself a ground handling and catering contract before you do anything. Ground handling is a simple case of signing a contract. For catering, you will need to put some effort into customizing your airline. You can choose which products to sell and how many to load. You can also choose the price and configure everything based on cabins. I normally keep it real and offer free services in First Class and charge in Economy. This does take a while to set up; however, it’s a really unique feature which I appreciate.
You can purchase aircraft in your hangar. Aircraft can be configured with first, business, premium, and economy classes. However, I find that all four classes are only on long-haul airliners and only first and economy on short-haul. I guess this is realistic. You can also upgrade your fleet with WiFi, inflight entertainment, power outlets, and better seats. You can charge for the WiFi to boost your income. I’m yet to find the benefit of the better seats, but I’m sure there is one.
Aircraft will get damaged from hard landings or just wear and tear, and you will need to repair them in the hangar. This is a very basic function, which is just a slider to repair to x%.
You can set your staff wages; however, you cannot hire/fire staff. This does seem to be something they are working on, however, according to their website.
There are other functions such as marketing to boost your passengers and charge for excess baggage to really boost your income.
Setting up a flight is easy, you can import from simbrief. However, you cannot control the number of passengers you have in a career setting (you can in sandbox flight). Passenger2 gives you a passenger number based on your airline reputation and what you set ticket prices to. They do have a great unique feature that allows you to sell tickets on a live system, which makes Passenger2 stand out.
The flight itself has everything you would expect. You can have custom announcements (although the default ones are really good), you can play safety videos instead of audio and conduct bar, meal, duty-free, and trash services (can be automated). Unique features worth a mention include interphone calls (can be turned off), and you can have welfare calls from your crew, which adds more realism. Each passenger has individual needs (like The Sims), and you can click on each passenger to see what they need. If they need something, they will also press the call bell, to which you will be alerted.
Flight reports are fairly standard but are very helpful to help you change some of your company policies to get that satisfaction as high as possible. You can share your reports on social media, which I think is awesome!
Overall, I think Passenger2 is a study-level add-on. It can be used alongside AP2 if you wish; however, I find that Passenger2 does everything I need it to. It does not cause any FPS drop, and I’ve had no compatibility issues with any other add-ons. Like I mentioned above, the only thing I would say is you need to spend the time setting it up and learning the program. The devs are very active, and there are updates a few times a month.
According to their website, it will work with MSFS2024 as well. There is no direct integration with GSX; however, you can change boarding speeds super easily to match GSX. This never causes me a problem. They do not offer a trial period. Looking on their Discord, they used to, but it was abused. Typical…someone always spoils it for everyone.
Hope that helps you out and anyone else who might be wondering.
Can you hire ai pilots and manage a complete fleet / schedule like air hauler 2 ?
Not sure it’s fair to compare. In my opinion, AH2 is more of a tycoon game than a proper add-on. To answer the question, you can build and configure a fleet. You get a fleet bonus for each aircraft in your fleet based on configuration and other factors. Staff are hired automatically but their website suggests this will change. It works like FSpassengers did back in the day.
I like the tycoon thing in combination with MSFS. Think AH is rather unique in that respect.
Its just incredibly dated UI … and way to easy ( billionaire after a couple off months )
Hope a good and more realistic replacement will follow soon
Fair enough. It’s not that easy in Passenger2 to be a billionaire so quickly, I can tell you that. I’m on 3 aircraft and looking like a while until I can afford to expand my fleet. Saving for that B747
Are there also Airlines like Edelweiss or Swiss in Passenger 2 or only those available in the pack? Or can you make one yourself?
Best Regards Roland
I don’t believe either of the airlines are available,
It’s worth checking out the discord to see what else is becoming available.
Yes you can create your own there is a companion app surprisingly called Passenger2 Companion that simplifies the process, I am in the process of creating my own for easyjet. If I can do it anyone can.
Hopefully more packs will become available as the app matures.
Thank you very much for this Information I think I will wait until a oder Passenger will be on the Market and a Version in German Language for Better understanding
Friendly Regards Roland
Crew announcements can be set to several different languages including German and I believe more languages are in the pipeline.
But alas the interface for configuration is in English.
