I think these bush trips are the best way to “gamify” MSFS - I loved planning, watching the scenery, reading the logs, etc. Having the line you can follow on the VFR map doesn’t make much sense (especially on a plane that has a glass cockpit) but I just didn’t use the VFR map and had a blast.
The one thing I had hoped for was a bit of change in the weather. I know it’s realistic, but I was hoping the sun would come out for some of the more spectacular vistas, but it was cloudy, cloudy, cloudy all the way to the end.
I did this trip twice, once according to the sim, and second time, wrote down the route but I used the Zlin Shock Ultra and landed everywhere it looked challenging and interesting, I used live weather, and most of the time was not like the Bush Trip; once I had to land wherever I could and wait for better weather. Now there is a custom built of the Zling, that is even better for adventure flying. Beautiful part of the world, looks like Norway.
That’s a cool idea! It would be neat if there were various difficulty settings - stable weather, variable weather, high winds, etc. It would also be neat if you could get updates when you finish each leg - i.e. low clouds forming so stay below 2000ft for the next leg, etc.
