Jorg said the 10th or the 12th. It’s nearly 7PM in Paris. Patches for 2020 almost always dropped at 11am east coast US time. Methinks we’re waiting for Thurs, but if anyone official knows for sure it’s not today I’d love for you to chime in.

Games on xbox release at 11am EST usually. However, patches are different. Te last two patches for FS2024 were released at 2PM and 4PM EST
Just wish they could do more timely and direct communication with the community. Someone at Asobo almost certainly knows whether the patch is dropping in the next few hours or not, why on earth won’t they come into spaces like this (and the discord) and talk to us?

In case it changes at the last minute
Going off everything I’ve put together over the past 4.5 years, they don’t do last minute changes/hotfixes; just not part of their dev process. They hid the SteamDB info now for 2024, but almost every time there’s been a patch the branch was there for a few days.
All comms are centralized through Redmond (MS). Please set a “watch” on Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > News & Announcements where Patches are typically announced. Thanks.

We want a different/better communications strategy where people who actually know things are allowed to talk on these boards. Sometimes Asobo gives off the impression they think they’re working on the Manhattan project with how tight the cards are held…

Forza motorsport got its update already today, so it looks like MSFS2024 will not be today (10 Dec)
And at least tacitly, it’s an official policy that they’d rather leave us to speculate like this than take 10 seconds for someone to write something. Sigh.

I Guess it will be released on Thursday.
There is still time yet. The last patch didn’t release until about 8pm UK time.
They said that the patch would be out either the 10th or the 12th.
What more do you want? A PM from the devs with the exact time for the release?

This is partly because there’s often blowback if someone gives a precise timeline and for some reason it must be delayed.
If folks want more real-time info, we need to be more patient and understanding when timelines change after that info is provided.

MANY other gaming companies are more active and interactive about providing real time updates to their communities via Discord etc. MSobo is absolutely at the end of a spectrum. So no, get out of here with this entitlement ■■■■, there are other ways to do business and they choose not to.

What is with the obsession with the use of the word ‘entitlement’ lately? It is absolutely not entitlement to expect timely updates from developers after they’ve received millions of dollars for a newly purchased game.
Sure, expecting an update every hour is unreasonable. But wanting to hear something on one of the supposed days of release isn’t asking for much.

It drops, when it drops. But from what i have seen so far in this community, sorry to say this, patience isn’t one of it’s virtues. Just wait for it. It’ll come when it’s ready.
