Since the update the sim really looks much nicer than before.
I think it has something to do with the Antialiasing.
BUT my FPS decreased by about 25% which is not good because my PC is not the fastest anyway…
(AMD A8 6600K , GTX 1060 6GB , 16GB DDR3 RAM)
No, pretty much the same for me but my specs are a bit better than yours. 32GB RAM , 2070 Super with an 8700K CPU.
After every patch I confirm my settings are still what I expect. Have you tried that?
And when you compare are you sure everything is similar to before? Even comparing the same area with clouds could have a 25% decrease without any settings change! So far every time I think it has changed it I have a different setting to what I last tested it with. That may not be true for you, but it is for me, so far.
Is the new Motion Blur setting doing this?
Yesterday I had dramatic fps drops just like you. The Sim also looked better though so I wondered if it was all due to better AA (or even heavy server load).
Today, thankfully, pre patch performance has now been restored. I disabled FXAA in nvidia settings, updated all content in my profile which i’d forgotten to do. Now sim looks wow and fps back to normal. Don’t know what sorted it but now ok.
FWIW, have you any mods in community folder that could be causing it ?
Same here, FXAA disabled but am experiencing a decrease in framerate. About 20-25%. Making it unplayable in dense areas. Suppose I will have to decrease my quality settings. LOD also appears to have been lowered yet AGAIN. Seems like a net negative for graphical settings once again for this patch. Getting old considering some other major bugs that have been introduced with this version.
If anything, my fps increased a bit.
I don’t call an issue “major” when it is trivial to look up existing posts for fixes or for many people, even simply checking their own settings.
Ok, as in an other thread suggested I switched FXAA off in the Nvidia CP that fixed it for me.
Back to normal now..
I had fxaa off already myself and had a 10 fps drop after update 5 my fix was to turn off MFAA in nvidia control panel has worked for others too hopefully this will help you.
