Patient died & flight terminated after "Skip to Next Phase"

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Career mode: Medevac flight, Pilatus, after reach cruising altitude & completing patient checkup, did a “Skip to Next Phase” action, and during the next 15 seconds (when destination geography was being loaded) a message popped up: “Mission Failed: patient was …” . I never saw any geography of the destination region; and I never had any opportunity to adjust any flight issues.

Impact to Player:

  • Lost an opportunity to get 31,000 Credits
  • Lost 1/2 a full Reputation score (from B down to C)
  • Mission is no longer available, so I cannot earn the 31,000 credits even if I figured out how to workaround this issue.
  • Lost 15 minutes of my IRL time

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: Pilatus PC-12

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

  • This happens every time with a Medevac flight in a Pilatus: but the symptoms vary from run to run. See other bug post at Task "Climb to 30,000 ft" cannot be checked-off (Medevac from MYGF)

  • Note that I was able to successfully complete two Medevac missions with Cessna planes, so it is only the Pilatus that is having this problem. Unfortunately, all available Medevac missions (for me) are now Pilatus.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Career Mode: Medevac flight from Italy (LIHP) to Germany(?) in a Pilatus; Possible credits about 31,000.
  2. Take-off and follow flight path, and reach cruising altitude at 31,000 ft. That (reach 31K) task is checked-off okay.
  3. Dr asks me to keep plane stable for checkup and I comply. Checkup is completed okay. Plane is still at 31,000 ft, flying flat & straight.
  4. The “Skip to Next Phase” button appears. This is a 4 hour flight, and I don’t want to spend 4 hours IRL, so I click the “Skip” button, understanding I’ll receive fewer credits.
  5. The screen turns solid grey (as expected) as the software starts to load the destination geography; a rotating white circle is in the lower-right corner of screen. No problem so far.
  6. After about 15 seconds, a message pops up: Mission Terminated, Patient was …" (I do not recall the final word).
  7. The geography/visuals for the destination had not yet appeared on my screen … so I had no opportunity to correct the plane if the “Skip to Next” somehow put the plane into some dive or something.
  8. Impact to Player:
    a) I got zero (0) credits even tho the flight was perfect on my part
    b) My reputation score lost 1/2 a full Reputation point (from B down to C)
    c) Mission is no longer available, so I cannot earn the 31,000 credits even if I figured out how to workaround this issue. Also, I cannot give you more details on the mission, because I cannot start it again. I’m not even sure what city it was in.
  1. Using “Skip to Next Step” SHOULD NOT BE RISKY … very few players have IRL time to cruise for 3,4,5+ hours. I only clicked it when the plane was flat & level, and everything was fine.
  2. Why is this a big deal? Because Medevac flights are essential … they are the first large-credits missions; without Medevac missions, I cannot earn enough credits to buy my own Career company, without a company I cannot get enough credits to progress to purchase the final 9 or 10 Certifications. Without Medevac, the remaining missions are about 3,000 credits each (which only earn about 1,500 after skipping the lengthy cruise phase). So I’ll never be able to get those certifications.
