I personally think its completely worth to buy aircraft and even pay €200 for them. You use them hundreds of hours.
But paying €15 euros for ORBX hammerfest is out of proportion from a CUSTOMER perspective. Unless u live in Hammerfest
…
A customer does not REALLY care about “its a lot of work”. They care about their wallet … it costed THEM “a lot of work” to fill that wallet in the first place.
Flew 400 CRJ hours … 400 hours of bugs unfortunately. And do not start the whole “customer error” or “Asobo did it” again please.
A lot of customers do not understand they have been flying with LNAV bugs since the first release … but time is spend to develop other products instead of getting the initial product right.
I do not care about 7 manuals … if the plane can not handle what the manual is saying. Or is the manual speaking of “over-correcting like a fighterjet in LNAV” ??.
But in the meantime the programmers that should be spending time on those issues ( from MY perspective) … are working on other € projects. A lot of CUSTOMERS will see that as greedy !!
I personally understand u need a cash flow from YOUR perspective no worries ( wages / rent etc etc ) …. But even I am annoyed at the same time.
Your perspective sounds reasonable. Lots of work … approaching study lvl … 7 manuals … al lot of time.
My perspective … i pay €50 for a plane that make my passengers sick for months. I do not see your work or manuals anymore … i am irritated every flight ( weird because 95% of the CRJ is working perfectly but that is a bad human thing 🤷 )
Then your forum and how you handle customers is weird. Fingerpointing to Asobo or customer the first second of a bug reported is weird ( but correct in a lot of cases sure … but you should NEVER do that if u want customers to feel valued )
For me it was my last experience and will not buy other AS products ever. But i will not pirate them also. I can “imagine” though that some people will think “i will get the 900/1000 from another location”
Even IF ( WILL NOT ) pirate the 900/1000 myself it will not be a loss for you because i will never spend € 0.01 with AS again. The loss is completely to do with customer experience. I paid €50 for the H145 also … because my experience is good … and i like them sofar. Its a buggy Beta … no problem even knew in advance. Good experience and likability. Will use a lot also … so also high value for money. TICKING BOTH boxes ( value for money / customer experience)
AGAIN … I condemn piracy … but developers should be thinking more from the customer perspective i think … because a customer in the end does not care about the amount of work … they want a good product for a GOOD price.
But i think here we have the 2nd reason that explains piracy ( first one value for money ) …. Namely customer experience / bugs and how people are treated by a developer.
-edit-
Updated CRJ yesterday ( 7 point changelog after Weeks
)
Did 2 short flights
-
NAV on 1000ft … overshooting waypoint and had the switch NAV off / on to follow LNAV ( only on 2nd flight … OLD BUG )
-
on both flights overcorrect bug ( OLD BUG )
-
almost all knobs not selectable correctly with mouse ( NEW both flights )
-
EFB input stopped in first flight had to restart ( NEW )
-
One more new thing i forgot. -edit- remembered … NAV was ON but could would not follow path … But the HDG knob worked despite HDG was OFF. This happened when i by accident did turn off/on AP approaching EPDG
All happening In just 2 short flights for heaven sake !!!
I paid €50 in MARCH ??
Already did see some “Asobo did it” remarks on the AS forum despite Asobo did NOT change anything between wednesday and yesterday ( for weeks to be correct ). ONLY your update did change the CRJ. Therefore i also will stop reporting bugs and spend time in vain.
So i can “imagine” someone will think “ lets do an illegal product check on the 900/1000 first”. And then never “think” of buying it because they already have it. Its the INITIAL PUSH / REASON to piracy that is important here
Hope that explains extra ( again i will NOT pirate )
There will always be piracy unfortunately… its about making your chances getting pirated as low as you can. Good value and happy customers will make those chances BEST ( NOT prevent 100%)
