ISSUE DESCRIPTION
If, for any reason, the Ground Proximity warning triggers during takeoff, the warning will stay on the PFD screen for the whole duration of the flight. It doesn’t disappear as the terrain clears or the aircraft climbs higher. There is also no option to clear it, pressing the “Acknowledge Caution” or “Acknowledge Warning” buttons does nothing.
Also, there is no option to turn off TAWS in the aircraft.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
Every flight where terrain is close to the takeoff path.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
- Load a flight in the Pilatus PC-12 NGX at an airport where mountains or other terrain is close to the runway.
- Take off in a direction where the aircraft comes close to the terrain.
- Monitor the PFD with the yellow GND PROX warning after clearing the terrain and climbing.
